Sorry Dook I missed your question- "Is/was it used by a navy ?" - it was built by some rich enthusiasts, taken over by the military for a while but for many years has been civvie only I believe

I don't believe that any specific naval air units ever used it but I may be wrong - it's hard to discover much about the detail of this place pre mid-50's......... and old photographs are quite scarce

Queries tend to be swamped by Google pages on the nearby city it serves.

I'm thinking Billund. Nowhere near the sea; a lot of tourism for Legoland; nautical connection as in the Battle of Jutland. But of course this airfield isn't in Scandinavia. Hmmmm.

I do not recall Billund to have hills.
And from Google Earth I cannot see a straight fence with trees behind.
So I think I can keep searching.

Good shot Flap 40 - Compostela it is - linked by routes (boat and foot) all over Europe used for many centuries by pilgrims. The badge is of course the Pecten - a sea shell (as used by Shell Oil).

Airport opened by a rich flying club in the early 1930's, taken over during the Civil War and then returned to civilan use later. One of Spain's busier airports but not on teh radar for the Stag 'n Hen brigade or the Sun 'n booxe crowd..................

Vliegveld Haamstede ?

Not everything is a clue.
Hamstering was referring to the shops currently being sold out due to Corona.
(In the Netherlands they are mainly thinking that toilet paper is running out!)
The pies are obviously related to the airfield.

In Dutch that is a “broodje aap verhaal”.

If you're down there see if you can tune to the Toulouse VOR (TOU 117.70) - go TO then fly the O/Bound Rad of about 50ºM. You'll lose the VOR at 130NM or so but you'll need to keep flying a fair bit after that until you get there.

The A320 ND was solely to give a HDG clue from Lerwick - with instructions to Ignore DME.
Though you're correct in that LTP is indeed on that course.

By that token if you'd followed the nav clue I gave Asturas56 From VOR TOU outbound 50ºM you would have flown slightly N of LTP and closer to VOR LSE at Lyon.

If I do another - Navigate to the aerodrome - challenge I shall ensure that all given nav clues fit together and can be cross-referenced.

I'm confused by UV's comment. I live in Alberta, which, as far as I know, is the only jurisdiction in North America, where cars don't have front number plates. Saves the government a lot of money, but must really irritate the cops.

An airfield on flat land with a prominent hill in the distance. I don't know of any hills like that on the Prairies. I had a look at Abbotsford and Boundary Bay in the Fraser Delta, but those don't fit the bill.

The predominantly white number plates might indicate Ontario.
