I also experience the image problems sometimes.
I think this might be related to image size and upload speed.
I have the problems from Iphone and not from wired internet on PC.

It's a base for MP aircraft of a more modern type than expected.. Certainly not Australia - I had a few hour's flight and a couple of connections to get there. Here is one of them:​​​​​​​

Well done Dook. Besides the offshore support the maritime connection was the DA42 MP aircraft based there. Very capable if a little cramped.
Flew in via Accra on Starbow. Here's the tower and the rotating beacon to alert airport uses of arriving aircraft - note the siting: must be interesting at night.

Not Chu Lai. Tam Ky is still the closest suggestion so far.

Measuring the runway on GE, Chu Lai is currently longer than the runway at the challenge - although I think the challenge has been extended a fair bit since these images.

I'm sure it is one of the flight training fields set up by the US Air Service in 1917. The tower is a fairly common feature.

Looked Middle Eastern to me so started around that area.

Difficult to find as there was no marker indicating an airfield/airstrip at that location.

Good morning, and it is indeed that settlement in Oman, it being the largest inhabited settlement, apparently, on the Kuria Muria Islands. Failed telegraph station in Victorian times when a better line was established close to Khasab at the very North of Oman.
