Do you now wish to avail yourself of your previous win?

I did …….. :*

I can do the tutorial any time, too :O.

Lightning Mate

OK.

Is yours a Yank?

RegDep
21st Aug 2011, 14:45
No, it is not Mate.

Lightning Mate
21st Aug 2011, 14:46
OK, how about German?

RegDep
21st Aug 2011, 14:55
Not German, either, Mate, but closer.

Lightning Mate
21st Aug 2011, 15:03
Looks ugly enough to be French then!

Lightning Mate

My eyes are hurting so I'll leave you all on your own for an hour or so.

RegDep

The Rohrbach Cyclogyro: 1933.

Probably the same as we has in March, 2011, although it was said to be 1934.

Edit: No, the one looks different.

Lightning Mate
21st Aug 2011, 17:01
Or is it the Platt Cyclogyro, or are they the same thing?

RegDep
21st Aug 2011, 17:07
I think Mate is correct. I find the same picture with two names, and Platt looks more plausible.

I think Mate is correct

Don't bet on that Reg!

It depends on Brians' source, and here there may be much confusion!

RegDep

There is none Mate!

Good morning HP :),

Another nightime raid I'm afraid, first time on today and no other lights on!

I believe that contraption is the VUITTON-HUBER helicopter of 1908 ?

Have to ask for another Open House if correct, as it's an early start again tomorrow and a busy day ahead, so I may not get back 'til lunch break!

Well done on your 4K Reg :D, but lookout for HP, he only started in February and is already well past 1000 :ooh:

Battleship camo

Is yours operating from carriers? (or do we need to wait until 12:00 before we should start pulling the truth out from you?)

skwinty
22nd Aug 2011, 08:03
Still practicing. I still have one more old style to come.:8

ETA: Not carrier based AFAIK, what you seeing is a fixed tail wheel and not a tail hook.

The camo is just to cause an illusion.:\

Ridge Runner

skwinty
22nd Aug 2011, 08:15
The aircraft saw service as a trainer and as a fighter. It is French.

It was still used as a trainer after the war by a few countries.

The silhouette is accurate, only the fill is different.

Lightning Mate

More accurately built for the USN for one purpose.

Two choices:

1. Wanna photo?

2. What that pupose was?

RegDep
22nd Aug 2011, 09:29
I vote for purpose, but before that: A Boeing?

Lightning Mate

They are to assist in visually judging the vertical or 45 degree angle during aerobatic manoevres such as stall turns or any othe manoevre which requires precise vertical alignment in competition work.

When I won a world international I had to use the tip tanks, which were just as good.

I made the canopy transparent to provide additional detail (that's one reason) and to show off my prowess with PS and get LM's seal of approval (and that's the other one). ;)

Sorry but it'll have to be another Open House, as I'm off to work in about five hours and if it's anything like today, I won't find much time to play :( ! It looks like the numbers are picking up a bit though and skwinty is playing his part well.
