In fact my challenge was the LTV L.450F which was able to be flown as a manned aircraft or UAV. The XQM-93 was developed from this, and did not have a cockpit. My sincere apologies..."Kenneth". :)
Never trust a colonial.

Despite some green lights no guesses or questions, so to help you along this is a one-off US design, which as far as I can see is NOT in Aerofiles.

Ridge Runner

Sorry all, I was unable to get on last night - packing boxes at home ready to move!! :(

skytrain10
22nd May 2012, 11:03

Lightning Mate
22nd May 2012, 11:26
Is/was it a homebuilt design?

skytrain10
22nd May 2012, 11:58
Is/was it a homebuilt design? "Was" is more appropriate...no longer on the US register. As menitoned just the one made. The photo came from a well known web source of aircraft photos.

Lightning Mate
22nd May 2012, 12:03
I assume that's Airliners.net then.

edit: However, you said it was a low res. photo so I doubt it on reflection.

I have to go to the other side of the airfield for the rest of the afternoon and will have no web access.

"Quick-N-Easy".

skytrain10
22nd May 2012, 15:46
"Quick-N-Easy". Bingo:ok: I guess to be 100% correct its the Boswell Quick-N-Easy. Odd that it has evaded Aerofiles. Had wondered if it had a different name, but nothing comes up on searches so looks like its one they missed. The registration looks like there's a digit missing between the 8 and the 7, but it was indeed registered N5187 and checks out on the FAA website.

Three Aussie guys, Shane, Ricky and Jeff, were working on a high-rise building project in Wagga Wagga. Unfortunately, Shane falls off the scaffolding and is killed instantly.

As the ambulance takes the body away, Ricky says, 'Someone should go and tell his wife.'

Jeff says, 'OK, I'm pretty good at that sensitive stuff, I'll do it.'

Two hours later, he comes back carrying a case of Fosters.

Ricky says, 'Where did you get that, Jeff?'

'Shane's wife gave it to me.'

Ricky continues, 'That's unbelievable, you told the lady her husband was dead and she gave you the beer?'

'Well not exactly,' Jeff said. 'When she answered the door, I said to her, "You must be Shane's widow".'

She said, 'No, I'm not a widow.'

And I said, 'I'll bet you a case of Fosters you are.'

Lightning Mate
24th May 2012, 18:12
It is a very special project which, on the latest available information, is due to fly next year and set an absolute record.

This glider will fly at Mach 0.5.

It is a rendering of what it looks like.

skytrain10

skytrain10
31st May 2012, 17:37
Well, it's a ringer for the Aveko 3L Sprint but yours has no chin cooling intake whereas that one does. No connection, but you are in the right country. This aircraft appears significantly larger than the Sprint.

may I assume that it's not classified in Europe as an LSA ? Mmm, should be easy to answer but it's not. I suspect you are right because of its size, but there is nothing to indicate whether it is or isn't. There is also the issue of whether the aircraft has actually been built yet! The silhouette is from a mock-up, so needless to say it is a comparitively recent (but not brand new) design. 2009.

Yes mate, we do have a four day weekend - probably feet up in front of the telly to watch the celebrations (with glass in hand).

I expect it will be broadcast over much of the world. Keep an eye open for the royal barge, "Spirit of Chartwell".
