No, it isn't is it ! Inscrutable reverse engineering :ooh:!!

I've been out all afternoon and it does seem to have been quiet; although I note that David has aquired a new icon for some reason !!

a one-off, 1970's design

Does one-off mean it's a manufacturer's prototype that didn't go into production, or that it's an amateur's, built from scratch effort?

Was it presented at any well known events?

Evening Trevor
Does one-off mean it's a manufacturer's prototype that didn't go into production, or that it's an amateur's, built from scratch effort? The latter:ok: One source describes it as a homebuild - but no plans were ever offered that I can see.

Was it presented at any well known events? It may have been, but I cannot see there is any photo on the net that reflect's that. Let me check further.

Not sure what's happened with David...not seen anything that would have prompted the icon change:confused:

skytrain10

Trevor, I can't see that it has appeared at any major events. That's not to say it hasn't but merely that there is no obvious record of it having done so.

Sorry Graeme, but if the selection of aircraft we are covering is not Aviation History, then what is it? I would suggest that this particular forum is about as close as you can get to the subject matter.

Reading this, is it time to move on? Seriously, there's is only a handful playing, maybe just continue via e-mail? You may be right. SincoTC
7th Apr 2012, 12:06
Good afternoon Ken (and any other lurkers) :),

I had an early(ish) start this morning (just in time to see Karlark get my Challenge). I noted Noyade's reservations about the apparent attitude to "Quiz" threads! I personally think the Mod's comments where aimed at the now removed Cryptic thread and feel that it did probably belong with the numerous other "word game" type threads in the Jet Blast Section (despite the fact that is was far more than a game and involved serious thought and subject knowledge).

The four current "Identification Quiz" threads, Heikkis' Silhouette Challenge, Which Aerodrome, What Cockpit and the newbie (exhaust/Intake) Challenge, all comply very well with the Aviation History and Nostalgia theme and the intentions of the thread's founder, involving as they do, a lot of serious delving into the subject matter and often presenting very interesting information and or pictures when the answer is revealed. I don't doubt for one minute that they are very popular threads and many "guests" casually look in, but don't participate. One has only to look at the number of times these threads have been viewed compared with other threads! Yes, I know they've been there a long time, but make a note of the rate that they grow every day, the numbers speak for themselves!!

However, they do need all more active members to make things tick along nicely, but even at their worst, they fair gallop along compared with other similar threads on other sites, where weeks can pass without a new post !

Here's one to keep things moving!

Narrowing down a bit, not Spanish or Dutch!

Don't forget I said same stable for the airframe and the engine, although some sources use the same name for both, it's not technically correct!

Edit: Good morning Ken :D!!

Sorry Graeme: the man from Wales has swooped and pipped you to the post.

It is the Fiat powered, airframe by Fiat subsidiary, the CMASA MF.5

Thanks Trevor, however as Graeme did most of the work I think it is only fair that he has control......:)
