Good afternoon all!!

That sounds like a good plan LM!

However, my b:mad:g connection is next to useless at the moment and keeps dropping every minute or so making searching very frustrating. Will be shifting house again this evening so will be better then!

SincoTC

You can say that again mate! It's been like it for a while but has got significantly worse since the high winds, just let them insist that it isn't a line problem!!

There can't be that many Americam biplane/triplane "sisters", so I'll take a quick punt at the Boeing Engineering Division GA-2 ? Dunno if we've had the GA-1/GAX Tripe and the piccie in Aerofiles isn't Reg's view, but the tails the same shape and there's a thingy on top of the engine cowl.

Third attempt at posting this! I copy my post to the clipboard 'cos if the con drops it's gone when I get back :ugh:

You must be so pissed off mate!

Don't worry Reg, I'm sure LM was referring to my intermittant broadband connection, not your comments!

RegDep
16th Jan 2011, 14:44
TC, yes, we have had Boeing GA-1 in August 2010. LM posted it and Skytrain busted it in two minutes. This is the biplane Boeing GA-2. Piccie is not from Aerofiles

All yours! :ok:

SincoTC

LM, seen my edit above?

Reg, I thought that it looked too similar to Mel's Welch challenge that you got the other day, which is why I put the Stal up out of order! You'd better go and check out all the ones you rejected to find that Welch :)

I found that one with the 2-cyl engine :(

SincoTC

OK, so you maybe don't want to go back to check like I said and I agree that they do all look similar!

I found that one with the 2-cyl engine http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.pprune.org/get/images/smilies/sowee.gif

Well, this one hasn't got a pesky little flat twin: it's much bigger than that, but speaking with my engineer's hat on, it's very very much bigger than its name implies!

RegDep

It's a two-seater (side-by-side)

RegDep

Engine. Sure. Had that in mind. Just saying that my experience with the Welsh was on hunting for a 2-cylinder thing. And Aerofiles.

Need to call it a day now. Nite. Seeyall tomorrow.

SincoTC
16th Jan 2011, 20:22
Sorry Reg, I have been offline for half an hour.

You won't find this one by the engine, or on Aerofiles, in fact the only use of finding the engine is that it's from the same country as the Challenge aircraft, which should help a lot!

Reg, I well know the feeling mate!

Is that the best-iola you could manage? Well' it's good enough 'coz it's dead right! The Benes-Mraz Be 60 Bestiola. Walter Mikron engine.

A Micron being one millionth af a metre, pretty small for an engine don't you think, but I expect they were referring to accuracy of its manufacture!

Some of us give frequent clues and very early to keep that interest going......................

RegDep

Ho hum, looks like I just missed you again Reg, sleep well!

everyone seems to have lost interest

Well, I haven't, it's just that my current "dog/house sitting" duties are proving very intrusive on my daily schedule. Apart from first thing his morning, when I was taking care of my WC challenge, this is the first time I've had a chance to look in, all my normal breaks are taken up with "walkies" etc!!

Rather surprised to find your bipe still here! I'm going to have a try at unraveling your clues, at least there is now an idea of the year to start the ball rolling, along with a recent addition to the list of NATO countries, but just how recent :ugh:

Dog snoring her head off now, I'll see if I can find something before I ZZZzzz too!

the RK-26???

RegDep
18th Jan 2011, 10:34
Not an RK-26. It is not a German aircraft. It is designed by German designers and looks much like a German aircraft, but it is an "independent" local design, not far away from where the AEKKEA-Raab was built. Czech engine, according to Jane's 1946 and Wikipedia.

check the wingtip planform. Sincere apologies. I had a look at the photo I hurriedly silhouetted and it turns out it's a flying replica (not very accurate) of the aircraft I thought it to be...does that make sense?

Lightning Mate

Noyade

Your control. :ok: But I didn't see your post, only David's P-64.
The NA-68 as I understand it is the P-64.

While waiting I had a quick Google and they seem to use the NA-50/P-64 for the same aircraft when describing the replica?
The source of the photo silhouette says it's a P-64 but that can't be right as it's adapted from a Texan but the internet also says it was built to resemble the NA-50, so as usual I'm somewhat confused.

David has posted a challenge. Mel, are you happy to press on with that?

Oh well....

Nuri Demirag donated his flying school real estate to the Turkish government and Istambul Atatürk Airport is located there. I see you're back in Luxemburg again, does the radio still fade out in the evenings? (you may be just too young to know what I'm talking about :))
