Is Ukraine about to have a war?
No they didn't.

They fired an MLRS into the middle of Kharkiv, pictures of Ukrainian women with their legs blown off (not in this link) and corpses scattered everywhere. I’m not certain where the line is for a war crime, but I am certain that Putin has crossed it.

It is in so far remarkable that so far in this war the general population hasn't been directly attacked on a wider basis. It is even more remarkable that the first really massive publicly visible such case happens in Kharkiv which is part of that part of Ukraine with a Russian speaking majority.
As bad an as cruel as it looks I'm not yet quite sure it was really on purpose.

No they didn't.

also agree with you re. Russian actions. But you should also (you as in general, not you as a person) should accept that West did quite some damage to Serbia with Kosovo and others(btw, I am not Serbian, but I am connected to it) not so long ago, using that same toolkit you mention and not just brush it aside as trolling.
General opinion here is when West does it it's not a big deal, when Russians/Chinese/Iran does that same whole world shuld jump on their throats.
As much as you would like to believe so, there is not that much difference between two sides.

Only noticed it mentioned here, no external links to a credible source.
However, if the RU Nuclear Football requires a 2-1 majority vote, removing someone with free will leaves … Vlad and his compliant mate. So a change of Gerasimov as CDS might facilitate stupidity on Vlad’s part.

Just reread. I’m assuming you are referring to the above post with the aircraft and house? If you were speaking of something else then I apologise for misconstruing your post.

Here's what the Kremlin official media RG is telling to the Dimitris and Tatjanas. Basically "He started it!"

Ministry of Defense: Only officers and contract servicemen participate in the special operation
Only officers and contract servicemen take part in a special military operation of the Russian Armed Forces. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov.
"Russia did not start hostilities. Russia is completing them," the general said.
According to him, the hostilities of the Kiev regime, as well as the systematic destruction of the inhabitants of Donbass, went on for eight years, more than 14 thousand people died during this war, including hundreds of children.
Konashenkov stressed that it is necessary to put an end to the endless threats from the Kiev regime against Russia. And Russia will do it.

Do me a favour, multiple near simultaneous detonations, geospaced at regular short intervals in a confined area, . . Its either MLRS or cluster . .or an exceptionally accurate mortar barrage - similar to naval hedgehog or lightweight neubelwerfer (Ha !). These explosions weren't big enough to be MLRS, QED cluster munition.
So, Russians are using a banned weapon.

You are both talking about different posts/videos.

Ecce Homo! Loquitur...
Graphic videos on Twitter of the aftermath with bodies strewn in the ground.
One video of a woman with her legs blown off receiving treatment who reportedly died shortly after,
Missile debris looked like MLRS.
I won’t paste the links, but below is reported as one dud in an apartment which was struck.

It would appear that Putin isn't the only one talking utter nonsense for their domestic market.
Would any sane person believe Vlad committing to halt military action against civilians and civilian infrastructure after weeks of him telling us the troops were only on exercises and were not an invasion force?

At the request of the Ukrainian government, the French president, Emmanuel Macron, has spoken to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, the Elysée palace has said in a statement:
The president reiterated the international community’s demand that [Russia] halt its offensive against Ukraine, and reaffirmed the necessity of immediately establishing a ceasefire.
With ceasefire talks between Kyiv and Moscow under way on the Belarus border, Macron also asked Putin to ensure that for the duration of the negotiations all strikes and attacks on civilians and their homes would be halted, civilian infrastructure would be preserved, and all main roads – particularly the road south out of Kyiv – would remain safe to use.
Putin “confirmed his willingness to commit to all three points”, the Elysée statement said.
Macron also called on Putin to ensure international humanitarian law was respected and civilian populations and aid transports protected, and asked the Russian president to “stay in touch over the coming days to avoid the situation worsening”.

As an aside I saw a wonderful quote this morning.
The report was on Russian special forces who have infiltrated Kyiv and are moving around looking for and marking targets.
One such was a group of Chechens in Ukrainian uniforms in a hijacked ambulance which was located and engaged by the Ukrainian army.
When asked what happened to the Chechens the official spokesman stated that they were: “A little bit interrogated, and a little bit shot”.
Presumably in that order…

Fighter sweeps/offensive CAP (with the initial efforts aimed at disabling of the Ukrainian AD / EW network); a question well raised.
An aspect I'd consider looking at is readiness rates and how many squadrons are needed for larger op areas, like the far east.
I don't think the Russians would strip their far eastern forces for this op which they (rightly or wrongly) believed to be a ground heavy operation with attack helicopter support.
Also interesting is the observation on the PGM. Makes me scratch my head, a bit.
If they used a lot of them in Syria a few years ago, how is it that the order book for replenishment hasn't already back filled the stockpiles?
It's not like the leadership can't direct the money there, is it?
There's a story I'd like to see told, though I doubt I'll ever see it.
