Is Ukraine about to have a war?

I can imagine discussions being had in Russia right now about the utility of exploding a small tactical nuclear weapon in a remote are of the Ukraine, as a warning to NATO.

Without breaching OpSEC, guess there’s probably some shipborne BMD assets (stateside) that can ummm assist with dealing with this, if the unthinkable should happen.
Actually what’s the likelihood with their fingers nervously hovering over the red button(s) this might happen?
i also read Belarus is joining in the fray with their special forces wanting to assist his good self in securing Kyviv.
cheers

Seems like friends are hard to find.
Even some of Russia's neighbors are giving them the cold shoulder.
A Georgian bulker was contacted by a Russian warship over the radio and requested a refuel, only to be told by the sailors to "go f*ck yourselves."
Keep in mind Georgia has had their own issues with Russia trying to take over their land.
Some kind person on reddit has transcribed the conversation, including translating the part that's not in English:
Georgian #1: Your ship looks like Russian. Are you from Russia?
Russians: Yes, from Russia
Georgian #1: Understood, Russian crew, yes? Guys, we refuse to fuel your ship
Russians: Who's talking to us?
Georgian #1: Senior chief mate from Georgia. We will not fuel your ship. Russian ship. Go F*ck Yourself! *laughs*
Georgian #2: Occupiers, blyat [f*ck you]!
Russians: Let's do without the politics, we're running low on fuel
Georgian #1: If you're running low on fuel, then you can use paddles
Georgian #2: F*ck you
Georgian #1: Glory to heroes, Glory to Ukraine, Glory to heroes
Georgian Sailors Refuse to Refuel Russian War Ship: "Go F*ck Yourselves
It would appear that Russia thought they would have a much easier time in their invasion attempt of Ukraine that, at least at the time of this writing, is still underway and hasn't been going to well for Russia.Even some of Russia's neighbors are giving them the cold shoulder.

Lose most of your airforce on day one, get a new one on day four. Not bad going.
Stay safe tonight guys and I just hope the President stays home from the negotiations, I wouldn’t put it passed them to take him out E route to or from the meeting. One hopes you hold on.

Very smart taking out 60 fuel tankers. Taking out a single tanker is as good as taking out a dozen tanks.
Between drone, satellite and AEW radar feeds from the US, I suspect that the Ukrainians know exactly what's moving where.

Not sure how to download from Reddit or even post animated GIF here but the caption is precise: 'Ukrainian soldier takes down a Russian tank'
It's a manpadkill practice from 50 yards abreast. A through answer about the difficulty to operate one. The panzerfaust shipment from the Netherlands is yet to arrive. 5000 of them IIRC.
Knowing what Russian (no irony here) snipers, many of them woman, could do 70 (se-ven-ty) years ago with equipment of their era, the result is clear. There shall limited need for all those molotovs.
For the upcoming diplomatic talks at Belarus border, Russian home assignment is to prepare terms of their surrender.
If you stare long and intensively onto the darkness, the darkness will start staring at you. Or as others may know, you become what you hate the most.
That risk is real and thank you for the demonstration, Vladimir Vladimirovich, the greatest nazi of 21st century.

Lukashenka has lost it, too. Belarus is planning to send troops to Ukraine in assistance to Russia, maybe as early as tomorrow.
Me thinks Lukashenka just signed his resignation letter coming to effect pretty soon...

For those enjoying little cultural finesse, the translation explained above 'Russian ship, go flak your self' is perfectly fine but the subtle tones are missing.
Russkiy karabl' ihdee nah kchui actually means Hump a dick, Russian vessel! (Russian vessel, go on a dick, word by word). Well educated marines were the martyr boys on Adder Island. https://en.wikidark.org/wiki/Attack_on_Snake_Island
Identically, 'sodomist' is the common street equivalent to m**********r. The S word covers about 50% of the voicover from the ravaged column clip.

Things seeem to have caught up with subsequent flights having taken a dogleg and routing up the east coast just out of US/Canadian airspace. AFL111 is Miami-Moscow.
Transport Canada statement-
We are aware that Aeroflot flight 111 violated the prohibition put in place earlier today on Russian flights using Canadian airspace.
We are launching a review of the conduct of Aeroflot and the independent air navigation service provider, NAVCAN leading up to this violation.
We will not hesitate to take appropriate enforcement action and other measures to prevent future violations.

Ukraine war: sanctions-hit Russian rouble crashes as Zelenskiy speaks of ‘crucial’ 24 hours
The Russian rouble has crashed more than 40% after trading began on Monday in the wake of unprecedented international sanctions against the country’s financial system over Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine…..
With restrictions in force limiting how much the Russian central bank can do to prop up the currency, the rouble plunged 41.5% to a record low when the markets opened, sinking to as low as 119 per dollar from 83.7 at its close on Friday. It recovered a little ground later on Monday to stand at 107 to the dollar, a fall of 28%.
Analysts at Rabobank in Singapore said that Monday could see a “complete collapse in the rouble” after the asset freeze on the Central Bank of Russia means it cannot sell foreign currency reserves to support the rouble…..
Russians waited in long queues at ATMs on Sunday, worried that the measures by western countries to punish Putin’s invasion would trigger cash shortages and disrupt payments, bringing home the gravity of the crisis for many ordinary Russians.
“The situation is dire for the Russian economy,” said Christopher Vecchio, senior strategist with IG Group’s DailyFX.com in New York. “Now unable to import or export goods and services thanks to the Swift sanctions, unable to sell foreign currency reserves thanks to the [central bank] asset freeze, and a Russian economy ringfenced from the global financial system, a currency crisis has emerged for Russia. High inflation is coming, as is an immediate lurch into recession.”….

"I don't regret a thing" - Ukrainian unrepentant for attempting to sink yacht
D. Taras O., the 55-year-old Ukrainian who attempted to sink the luxury yacht that belongs to Alexander Mijeev, stated in court on Sunday: "I don't regret anything I've done and I would do it again."
Arrested for partially sinking the luxury yacht in Port Adriano, he fully accepted the facts of the case and assumed total responsibility for what had happened. When the Guardia Civil arrived in Port Adriano on Saturday, he turned himself in and told officers: "My boss is a criminal who sells weapons that kill the Ukrainian people." Alexander Mijeev is the CEO of Rosoboronexport, a Russian military weapons company.
He has worked as a mechanic on the Lady Anastasia for some ten years. He acted after seeing a news report om the television. He told the judge: "I watched the news about the war. There was a video of a helicopter attack on a building in Kyiv. The armaments used are produced by the yacht owner's company. They were attacking innocents."
He has been working on the seven-million euro yacht, Lady Anastasia, for some ten years. On Saturday, he watched television footage of a Russian cruise missile hitting a block of flats. He took it that this was a cruise missile produced by Mijeev's company. He went to the yacht in Port Adriano, intent on revenge by causing material damage rather than personal.
He opened a large valve in the engine room and a second in another compartment where the crew lives. He closed the fuel valves and turned off the electricity and told three crewmen to abandon ship. They told him he was crazy. He reminded them that they were Ukrainians and that their homeland was under attack.
They and other workers at Port Adriano tried to stop the water leak, the yacht having partially sunk. When the Guardia Civil arrived, he told them: "The owner of this yacht is a criminal who makes a living selling weapons and which now kill Ukrainians."
He appeared in court on Sunday and the judge released him on charges.

Someone above this post said that borders are indisputable and if you don't like them, move to another country. West stomped over those same principles in the past and somehow that is fine? How do you decide what is fine and what is not?

Oh dear, the russian conscripts have a hell to go through with them...
Just look at that amount of molotov cocktails, and people are just waiting there for the opportunity to use them. And apparently they are armed to the teeth as well, since the weapons storages have had a firesale. Plus all the anti-tank stuff flooding to Ukraine. And fast jets amongst other goods.
Must admire the ukrainians. And starting to feel a bit proud of the EU.

Well that can’t be good.
Russian state-run media Russia Today is broadcasting warnings for all civilians in Kyiv to immediately evacuate from the city.
The Russian Ministry of Defence is also issuing instructions to the residents of Kyiv to evacuate:
“All civilians in the city can freely evacuate from the capital of Ukraine along the Kyiv-Vasilkov highway. This direction is open and safe.”

Not sure if the Mig-29s have arrived yet - but the missiles have…
”Ukraine says they have been resupplied with air-to-air missiles. Considering they use Russian-types, this must-have come from an Eastern European NATO ally with stocks of these missiles:
“Our Western partners for the aviation of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have received a large batch of air-to-air missiles, which are already under the wings of our fighters. The pilots assure that there will be enough for all the occupiers!”

ORAC, that is what the Chinese used to do thousands of years ago, to surround a city and leave an avenue of escape. The hope was that the city would fall easily, and with no bloodshed for either the attackers or for the defenders..
Great read and all-time world classic if anyone has the time and inclination, and if you have already finished with Shakespeare, etc. Takes some getting into because of all the names, but it made me realize that the Chinese are still living this history as if it never grew old.
