The question being is why haven’t the EU/Eurocontrol closed all European airspace to Russian airlines - and why is Spain allowing them to land!

Looks like the Russians are moving TOS-1 into theatre.

From BusinesInsider, 26th Feb 2022

Russian army deploys its TOS-1 heavy flamethrower, capable of vaporizing human bodies, near Ukrainian border, footage shows
https://www.businessinsider.com/russ...22-2?r=US&IR=T

Rumour is that Russian commanders have been told to take Kyiv at all costs, US Senator Marco Rubio (R), Vice Chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee sent the following via twitter

27th Feb 2022

#Russian military leaders should think very carefully before following the orders they recently received

#Putin is 2 years shy of the life expectancy of a Russian male
and you will spend the rest of your lives evading an international tribunal for committing his crimes

Old Duffer
When Putin berates his generals will they explain their failure by blaming the intelligence/arms being supplied by NATO?
I'm admire the Ukrainians for their bravery but dread the casualities they may suffer....

Spread the word to locals. If you see this mark outside a shop don’t use it. Then lace all food products inside with poison.

Is it just me or is anyone else a little uneasy with all the news coverage of civilians making Molotov cocktails? This becomes pretty close to making the civilian population legitimate targets. If they are publicly seen to be aiding the Ukrainian armed forces they cease to be civilians and can be seen as irregular forces and fair game.

Granted this will always happen and should happen, I just don’t think it should be given press coverage.

Ukraine reportingthat the Russian assault into Kharkiv has been fully repulsed.

Presumably the Russian column met its fate.

As far as Putin is concerned they are already "legitimate targets". The Ukrainians are standing solidly together against the Russian invaders. What would you and your family do in similar circumstances, what would they have done if the Germans had invaded the UK in 1940? I know what I and my family would would do and did in WW2.

I wrote it earlier and write it again: I hope the NLAW's make it there and take those thermobaric weapons on convoy. Or that there would be some Bayraktar still flying that would take that out. Or a real Ghost of Kiev looking for the best bang for buck.
Those will multiply the civilian casualties from todays numbers once used in a city.

The carpet bombing type flashes in the distance we saw occasionally as Russia pummelled Ukrainian infrastructure and airfields on that first night rather resembled what this TOS-1 does in the clip above. I wonder if it has already been used there? Or did masses of cruise missiles all land together?

I fear that is true , but feel that the pictures that would generate, would have a massive impact on a Russian population that is already showing dismay and clearly don't view the Ukranians as enemies. Hopefully for that reason - if no other - they won't be used.

The range is only 6 000 m max, so impossible to get that close across defended territory for first strike in this case.
