A tale of one Thales and how their equipment subject of an embargo since 2014 is turning up in all of the newer Russian kit.

Appeasing tyrants only emboldens them further.
Have we learned nothing from history?

I was wondering if the Ukranians have tried using RC “toy” cars/trucks as mobile claymore mines? Easy to conceal in the underbrush ready to dash out towards a passing enemy. Some of them are fast, have good range and large enough to carry a hefty load which, detonated under an armoured vehicle or amongst dismounted troops, would cause considerable damage. Even just a few would, if successful, give the Russian hordes something else to worry about.
Thought about today watching TV and saw a kid using one.

Gentlemen; this thread is rapidly becoming music to Mr P's ears. Let's lay off slagging other countries and being downbeat about the result. As for negotiating, I suspect Zelensky's final line is "you get out of Ukraine or we will, over time, grind you down."
The West is still united, albeit some giving more than others. Perhaps the arms being held back will prove very useful on the Finnish/Russian border.
Call me a deluded optimist, but I still believe that Ukraine is going to win.

My understanding of the Ukrainian position is that ALL Russian gains in Ukraine must be relinquished - including those of 2014.
President Zelensky frames ultimate victory as the result of terms which will be set following the battlefield victory. This is a wise approach which shows attention to detail and an uncompromising attitude. Strength and resolve.
Strength and resolve...it would be good to see more evidence of that from Germany. With regard to helping the defenders of Ukraine.

And Germany can't refuse towards NATO to supply armament. So, yeah, just a little contribution towards Ukraine.

This has enabled Slovakia to give its S300 system to Ukraine.

The worrying thing is, that Russia is gaining ground in the Donbas, very slowly, though micro step, by micro step, with progress. Until the whole of Luhansk/Donetsk has been occupied and Russia "integrates" these areas administratively in Russia, making this whole area out of recover reach, out of fear for the Nukes.
So, the implementation of the $40B needs to come fast, very fast. Oh, and please roll-up Russia too, otherwise, we have another encounter in 10 years.

With $40B, you can do a lot in a war, so, yeah, certainly realistic.

As for the £40 billion, I just cannot understand the levels of resistance in some posts on the web from US citizens, somewhere they seem to miss the fact that a lot of it entails arming Ukraine with American weapons that are being produced in the USA, so a lot of that money is going into the US economy generating jobs at home.

I don’t think the threat of nukes after an illegal claim that it is now Russia is a go’er..

‘Those who say Ukraine can’t win don’t understand the situation’
So one way or another, the Ukrainians will win.
Slava Ukraini

Quite so! Let us not render the Kremlin's bots redundant. They do provide entertainment and an insight into Russian disinformation and propaganda techniques.
