Military Aviation A forum for the professionals who fly military hardware. Also for the backroom boys and girls who support the flying and maintain the equipment, and without whom nothing would ever leave the ground. All armies, navies and air forces of the world equally welcome here.

The Boomerang has an inwardly folding gear, not as in the Cap pic.

"Look on the bright side love, aircraft engineering is just like gynaecology, you tend to spend your life poking around in small holes often far from the problem, on the bright side though, it tends to smell better"

Well, with all this rationing, I'll use anything I can find for a new underwire!

Early attempts at an interrupter gear worked well during ground trials.

As an aside, reminds me of a story I was told by the RN aircrew in the early days of 360. Young pilot being strapped into I think a Seahawk by a female FLM. Young lad sees a gap between denim and skin and slips his hand in. She has spanner in hand which she applies vigorously to the side of his swede. Semi-conscious, sortie abandoned and he is lifted from cockpit. Don't know what happened afterwards, but no doubt an interview without coffee..........
