Someone above this post said that borders are indisputable and if you don't like them, move to another country. West stomped over those same principles in the past and somehow that is fine? How do you decide what is fine and what is not?
He remains charged with the offence and will probably be tried in due course. The penalty will be commensurate with the crime.

Lumping so many different countries and cultures as 'the west' really illustrates the xenophobia and paranoia that have been propagated by your authoritarian propganda machine. Shame on you for believing it.

Joli,

That may have worked in an era when cities had populations of just a couple of thousand - small towns in modern terms.

But Kyiv has a population of 3m. How long do you think i5 would take to evacuate and who do you think could build the tent cities and bring in the food, water, field hospitals to support them?

Maybe they think they could just keep walking down the highway to the Polish border lying down and dying at the roadside?

English is not my first language and if what you say is true, I misunderstood "released on charges". I apologize for that.
You really want me to count every single country whenever I refer to the "West"? Yeah, not going to happen. And BTW, I have absolutely no connection to Russia.
It seems strange how people that like to propagate "Western values as pillars of freedom, both physical and speech" like to tag anyone that dares to give some different points of view as trolls, bots, etc.......

Self fulfilling prophecy. Putin wanted so bad having the West as enemy, now it is done. But due to Putin's action since Feb, 24th, 2022.

Probably not, there are vehicles parked all over Ukraine and travelling in small groups driving about even in towns. Many seem to be lost of looking for fuel.

Might have to do with the abundant use of Russia's Propaganda Machinery of exactly these tools. You might want to complain at them for doing so and thereby undermining your line of argumentation!

Not sure if it has been mentioned on here previously, but hopefully the Sovcomflot Russian Oil Tanker will be prevented from loading/exporting Crude Oil from Sullom Voe tomorrow.
Seems crazy that permission has not (yet) been refused.

Admikar, there is plenty of FSB presence on all social media trying to engage in the disinformation war - hostility from other posters is a natural reaction against anyone who defends Putin or his actions which are wholly reprehensible.

I agree that was reprehensible and was not demonstrably true but does not justify the Russian actions. Putin is doing no more than his Czarist predecessors and as a Serbian you should be well aware of the damage they did to your country in the 19th and 20th centuries using the same toolkit and where it led to.

Agree! But the woke warriors would soon be complaining of a lack of gender equality, racial discrimination and LGBT credentials.

Exactly zero chance. Putin is infatuated with Ukraine, and the idea of its being the birth place of Russia. This isn’t about protecting Russias borders. Never has been, and although he would
like the rest of the soviet era block members back it is Ukraine that actually has meaning to him.

I totaly agree with last part of your post. Point is, I never defended his actions.

also agree with you re. Russian actions. But you should also (you as in general, not you as a person) should accept that West did quite some damage to Serbia with Kosovo and others(btw, I am not Serbian, but I am connected to it) not so long ago, using that same toolkit you mention and not just brush it aside as trolling.
General opinion here is when West does it it's not a big deal, when Russians/Chinese/Iran does that same whole world shuld jump on their throats.
As much as you would like to believe so, there is not that much difference between two sides.

On the topic of propaganda, I know there's been a lot of talk of booting RT of air but it does provide a useful window into the minds of the regime and their supporters. I caught the tail-end of a documentary on the Donbas yesterday - all very odd, slo-mo footage, mawkish music, and obligatory babushka (it had me in mind of a budget Fox). An element of Russian society clearly revel in their victimhood.

This was then followed by a long link/channel ad which went on and on about the truth and perspective. Big Brother would have loved it.

My history is a bit vague here - was the intervention in the post-Yugoslavian civil wars not under the auspices of the UN? The 'West' may have some issues with the talking shop in New York, but we do step up when the world asks us to.

I've watched a little of RT and was surprised to see them cover the protest marches in Russia against this war.

Do RT broadcast in Russia? Semi-serious question...

Not the brightest Russians in the military.

Two railwaymen seized a #Russian armored personnel carrier. One of the Russian invaders got out of the cab and asked for directions. The railwaymen pointed the way to a dead end. Once trapped, two of the occupants were detained. Two others managed to escape.

Their documentary channel, which consists of RT-produced documentaries related to Russia, is the only channel broadcast in the Russian Language but they do have an internet presence.
As the channel is aimed at the World rather than Russia I so suspect that it isn't broadcast within Russia.
