Losses getting serious? and they know that taking cities will take even more?
Russian president Vladimir Putin told his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in a call on Friday that Russia is willing to hold high-level talks with Ukraine, Chinese state television CCTVreported.
“The United States and Nato have long ignored Russia's reasonable security concerns, repeatedly reneged on their commitments, and continued to advance military deployment eastward, challenging Russia's strategic bottom line,” Mr Putin told Mr Xi.
“Russia is willing to conduct high-level negotiations with Ukraine.”
It comes as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine continues with Mr Putin’s troops advancing into Kyiv.

As we explained yesterday, since Moscow identified Ukrainian military airfields and aircraft on the ground as primary targets for its air strikes we assumed that the Su-27 pilot had to land in Romania because he probably had nowhere else to land.
A claim confirmed also by Intelsky on Twitter, that said:
‘Russia has destroyed 11 Ukrainian airfields and a naval base thus far, claimed Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov.
‘That’s explain why Ukrainian Su-27 fighter aircraft lands in a Romanian airbase.’

A Frenchman cycles down a country road when a German Soldier steps out from the bushes, stands in front of the Frenchman, points his rifle and commands "Halt!".
The Frenchman comes to a stop before the German and asks "Do you fear me German?".
The German quite surprised and a little annoyed replies "No, of course not."
The Frenchman replies "Give me the rifle, you'll see".
Hatred by the population you are trying to subdue (of you the enemy) is a powerful thing especially when right is on your side.

From the patches of blue I can see, I think it's Ukrainian. I note the ejector seat is not present. Either an ejection or rocket motor ignited by flames.
CG
OK, if we take above statement that armour entering Kiyv is Ukrainian, who rammed that car? One of those captured vehicles as reported by BBC? I notice there are no markings on that Strela.

I did hope they would have attempted to put some form of peace keeping into the Country, instead all the west seem to be able to do is light up a few poxy buildings with blue and yellow while standing back and watching a Country and its people get destroyed.. AND I do not think he will stop there.
Nato no possibly not, but as Signatures on the disarmament agreement, individual Countries possibly yes, boots on the ground as peace keepers do not have to be involved in fighting, but they would have been a better deterrent than a bunch of half arsed sanctions that keep getting kicked down the road. Swift still hasn't been cut off from Russia, their passport holders should have been banned from the west as well as visas cancelled. the only way they would have been effective is if the lot was dumped on them the minute he recognised the two "states".
Why on earth will any other Country in the world ever agree to give up their Nuclear weapons in the future on vague not kept promises, North Korea included.
And yes, I still feel ashamed of our Country.

So every time Russia invades another country, which he will, should the UK should just roll over and acquiesce to their demands?
Before you know it, they will be goose stepping up the Mall.

Here's how to checkmate Putin - chess grandmaster Garry Kasparov By BENJAMIN WEINTHAL
Here's how to checkmate Putin - chess grandmaster Garry Kasparov (msn.com)
Widely considered history’s all-time greatest chess player, Garry Kasparov, who is a veteran expert on the psyche of Russian President Vladimir Putin, delivered on Thursday a series of messages detailing how to isolate and ultimately defeat Putin on Twitter. Kasparov's commentary comes in response to Putin's military invasion of Ukraine.
Kasparov wrote: “Since I answered so many of the questions I'm getting today on Putin and Ukraine, and more, in my book Winter Is Coming, I'm pinning it. I hoped it would be history by now, but thanks to Putin and free world apathy, it's still a current event.
"Support Ukraine militarily, immediately, everything but boots on the ground. All weapons, intel, cyber. Bankrupt Putin's war machine. Freeze & seize Russia's finances & those of him and his gang. Kick Russia out of every intl & financial institution. PACE, Interpol, etc.," he continued.
He added that the international community should “Recall all ambassadors from Russia. There is no point in talking. The new unified message is ‘stop or be isolated completely.’ -Ban all elements of Putin's global propaganda machine. Turn them off, shut them down, send them home. Stop helping the dictator spread lies & hate.”
Kasparov wrote further that there is a need to “Expose and act against Putin's lackeys in the free world. If [Gerhard] Schröder and his ilk continue to work for Putin, bring charges. Ask the owners & advertisers of networks platforming Putin propagandists like [Tucker] Carlson why they allow it.”
Lastly, he wrote that the global community must “Russian oil & gas. Pressure OPEC, increase production, reopen Keystone. You can't save the planet if you don't save the people on it. -Acknowledge there will be costs, sacrifices. We waited too long, the price is high, but it will only get higher. It's time to fight.”
He tweeted the five messages to his over-699,600 followers on Twitter. The tweets went viral straight away.

The chess Grandmaster authored “Winter Is Coming: Why Vladimir Putin and the Enemies of the Free World Must Be Stopped” in 2015, a year after Putin illegally seized Crimea from Ukraine.
Kasparov said on Wednesday that "Putin's invasion of Ukraine and annexation of Crimea in 2014 ended any reasonable doubts as to his nature and threat. Any attempts to negotiate with Putin since then were corruption, cowardice, and cynicism. He should have been isolated instantly. Instead, here we are."
Kasparov, a Russian dissident and human rights advocate, has been one of the lone voices warning Western leaders over the decades not to appease Putin. He said on Thursday that "Western leaders rarely listened to Russian opposition leaders, and rarely acted when they did listen to us. Is it too much to ask for them to listen to Ukrainian leaders now?."
When asked by one person on Twitter if Russians will revolt against Putin, Kasparov answered: "There is always a chance. Dictatorships are hard but brittle. If the blitzkrieg fails and Putin is faced with too many casualties to hide and more information gets through, the 1000s protesting today could become a million. But after 21 years it is hard.
"I wonder what the American tech giants could do to help get the truth to the Russian people. Most get news from state TV, unfortunately, but Apple, Facebook, Google, and the rest still have considerable reach. But courage, usually none."
The chess grandmaster took Germany to task for its alleged appeasement of Putin: "Germany still refusing to send weapons to Ukraine after funding Putin's war machine for years, or even to remove Russia from SWIFT. Neutrality between good and evil sides with evil, always."
