You go to the UN and ask them to put an embargo on the weaponary being supplied to Ukraine, so you can get back to the business of raping and pillaging the population with the not so few murders thrown in..... unbelievable.

Russia advocates «imposing an arms embargo» on Ukraine to prevent them from falling prey to arms trafficking networks (msn.com)
Russia is not permitted a vote in any matter related to Russia-Ukraine, under the UN Charter. Any belligerent is required to abstain. They can ask for a vote, they cannot make a vote.

Sorry that Vlad's big European tour has run into such inconveniences as the victims actually fighting back against the aggressor.

Russian English translator:

я пришел с миром. : I kill you and your children
Мы хотим помочь вашей стране: I wish to kill you and your children
Все мои солдаты хорошо заботятся: More 200's for the manifest
мы твои друзья: Attack is imminent
нацистский: A democratic defender from an invading force
Высокоточные боеприпасы: Cluster bombs
Шутка: UNSC
плохая шутка: UNSC
плохие дни для генералов и призывников Российской Армии: Any day ending with a "Y"

Apparently there is bi partisan support to supply Ukraine with atacms

A member of the Democratic Party, Elissa Slotkin has announced she has bi partisan support for supply of atacms. I will wait till we see actual vote/legislation tabled but interesting if true

edit apparently that bit has been removed from the CNN article

25 missiles fired from Belarus into Ukraine. AFAIR this happened before early in the war - once or twice - then stopped. Since this isn't Russia and this is a new "initiative" if you like, do you believe the Ukrainians will retaliate to kill the ;missile batteries and give Lukashenko a warning or hold off since it is a Russian air-base ?

Peter, found the link on Twitter, nothing like going to help your fellow man is there.... the only one that seemed to head in the right direction was the dog.

That pontoon bridge the Russians were building near Kherson has gone as well, to be replaced by a cable... Ferry??

I just watched the video showing Russian soldiers cutting off the genitalia of Ukrainian POWs. How do you unsee that? WTF are we waiting on to halt this evil? Stop incrementally sending weapons, we all know they need- 100 MLRS, all types of rounds, ATACMs, tanks, etc, send it!

If someone thinks Ukraine’s morale will be “discouraged” due to that POW castration video and all things like that going viral, I have to ruin such expectations, to put it softly.
It just shows the world what kind of thing some in the West are trying to “appease.”

The Russians should promote the dog to General, or perhaps president.

And Russia wonders why they are a pariah state? Such outrages make it easier for the other countries to make decisions to stop their grotesque misdeeds. Whenever Lavrov's corpulent features turn up in public, he embodies the morality that the Russians have reverted to under their Dear Leader. How the Russians become normalized to civilization will be a challenge. Economics becomes a driver, but even now, the Russians get "support" from states that are getting oil for cash, at. a price below Russia's production cost. That is the consequence of the population's acceptance of the short-term gains of having a tough guy image of the dictator, and the material benefits that were flowing from the post soviet era that were attributed to the goat.

Now that was low!!

Any one on here responsible for making my day

The West assumes that the systems provided to Ukraine is a loss of capability to the west, yet the west is gaining valuable knowledge on the effectiveness of the systems in the current situation, which can permit the rational allocation of resources in the near future. (buying T-72's not a great idea, buying mobile precision rocketry seems like a good idea, as is improved range quadcopters for ISR/light attack, and better hat camo). With the arguably irrational continuance of aggression by Russia on a double down, gamblers mentality given the abject failure of assumptions made by the GRU Intel heavy management team of Putin's, the margins of how far his ego pushes Russia down the abyss is unknown. The internal resistance to Putin has had it's ups and downs, but doesn't appear to be heading towards a resolution involving Putin being removed from office, as reasonable as that appears to outsiders. In that context, the west is going to get to use up their ready reserves one way or the other, and right now, there is a ready willing, and able, highly motivated group that are pleading for those very tools to do the job. As the UN has shown itself to be incapable of fulfilling its charter and is fundamentally a costly joke on civilization, then getting on with removing Russia back to its borders would seem a cost-effective solution for all of the Wests govt's that are hand-wringing about the costs of helping Ukraine.

The West ramping up munition production is not all bad news for the countries involved, and does provides for fresh stocks.

further Safetys uncaged, ATACMS soon?

The effect of this video will just add to another larger ripple wave that will hit new people around the world. This stuff has been happening since week one. This particularity blood chilling video is just 1 instance out of 10/20 probably that unlike other atrocity's was recorded and is now over social media and reddit/telegram. etc
Just reading about it is disturbing enough. so i will dodge this video. its stuff you cant un-see and will stay with you for hours and weeks.
There's a line you have to judge when trying to find out what is happening in a conflict. Reflecting back to the days of liveleak (which was a good source of goings on in 2014) you just had to to be wise to avoid the unnecessarily gore bad stuff that was on that site. war is hell, now its 2022 and this is on twitter and reddit.

According to the subreddit on the video, the guy doing the cutting has been identified and details/ etc found. The guy and all involved should just get a bullet in the head end of. im sure the news of longer range MRLS being assessed for delivery to ukraine is no coincidence. Stuff like this really can really make blood boil. & from sound of average redditer on there they'll be writing to there congressmen to give everything they can to the Ukrainians.

Out of a lack of wisdom I also watched the video , he was not just castrated, but also emasculated 1 minute later. He probably bled out quickly or was executed.
There were some reports 1 month ago that the same had happened to ~100 azovstal defenders, at the time I discounted these as propaganda , but if Ruzzia want to publish their war crimes... then no atrocity becomes unbelievable.
The guy in the video now has a 75k$ (and counting) bounty on his head. I hope his colleagues realize how many Ladas they can purchase for that.

So the state of play so far as I see it in Putin's plan to demilitarise Ukraine and prevent NATO from creeping closer to his borders.

Two Countries bordering Russia once viewed as neutral now seeking and likely to be approved to join NATO bringing 39000 active and 900,000 reserves and 36,000 paramilitary land forces forces to the table.
Poland on a massive rearmament programme.
Germany on a rearmament programme
Most of the other Nato countries being bolstered by modern US aircraft and weaponary replacements and on rearmament programmes.
Ukraine who the way things are going will be quite away towards having NATO compatibility in weaponary
UK still on it's planned reduction in the military which I find frankly unbelievable.
Russian Army being decimated that will take decades to restore.
NATO the strongest it has ever been in its existance with everyone playing to the same tune almost and on the same page.

So much for his grand plan

As for the castration of the poor unfortunate, do they not realise that one act and death will bring a hundred fold in the reaction against Russian troops, those that might have considered surrendering will fight to the last, Russian PR exercises are a disaster and have been from day one.. Showing the odd vehicle succesfully crossing a pontoon bridge past the myriad of destroyed Russian vehicles that never made it etc.

I don't expect we'll see much change until after the leadership contest produces a new prime minister. Truss has said she'll increase spending but from what I can see Sunak has been quiet on the subject, at least since March when he appeared to be ruling out any increases. I'm not really a fan of either but if I had any say in it, I'd be going for the one committing to increase spending.

I would imagine that guarantees no more surrenders.

Russians say that 40 Azovstal prisoners were killed during an alleged airstrike on the penal colony in occupied Olenivka, #Donetsk Oblast. According to locals, no explosions were heard. #UkraineRussiaWar #Azovstal
