If someone thinks Ukraine’s morale will be “discouraged” due to that POW castration video and all things like that going viral, I have to ruin such expectations, to put it softly. It just shows the world what kind of thing some in the West are trying to “appease.”
The West assumes that the systems provided to Ukraine is a loss of capability to the west, yet the west is gaining valuable knowledge on the effectiveness of the systems in the current situation, which can permit the rational allocation of resources in the near future. (buying T-72's not a great idea, buying mobile precision rocketry seems like a good idea, as is improved range quadcopters for ISR/light attack, and better hat camo). With the arguably irrational continuance of aggression by Russia on a double down, gamblers mentality given the abject failure of assumptions made by the GRU Intel heavy management team of Putin's, the margins of how far his ego pushes Russia down the abyss is unknown. The internal resistance to Putin has had it's ups and downs, but doesn't appear to be heading towards a resolution involving Putin being removed from office, as reasonable as that appears to outsiders. In that context, the west is going to get to use up their ready reserves one way or the other, and right now, there is a ready willing, and able, highly motivated group that are pleading for those very tools to do the job. As the UN has shown itself to be incapable of fulfilling its charter and is fundamentally a costly joke on civilization, then getting on with removing Russia back to its borders would seem a cost-effective solution for all of the Wests govt's that are hand-wringing about the costs of helping Ukraine.

The West ramping up munition production is not all bad news for the countries involved, and does provides for fresh stocks.
