Derrick Klein III@gunnerklein·1hReplying to @oryxspioenkopWhat is this?Quote Tweet🇺🇦 Ukraine Weapons Tracker@UAWeapons · 2h#Ukraine: More Russian aviation was claimed to be downed today in the area of #Mykolaiv.

Although the precise location cannot be confirmed, we can observe that this appears to be a Mil Mi-35M helicopter that has been shot down: tail number "RF-13017"

I could not resist putting this up...

The Russians entered the elevator to cover the area from the roof of the office building, and the Ukrainians turned off their power ... LOL

A commercial aircraft at 33000 over Kiev. When I looked at the route it was from Tel AViv to Rovaniemi in Finland. Quick change of flight plan once in Belorussian airspace and on to Moscow. News saying Moscow was informed of the visit 2 hours before he departed.

Or it could have just been a misplaced aircraft that was out of place on FR24.

"Mr Putin made the remarks while speaking to a group of women flight attendants at an Aeroflot training centre near Moscow."

Well there's a bunch who are going to have plenty of time of their hands over the next few weeks and months, if not years ...

I said this earlier, but I think if the Chinese did have any plans they may be in tatters now. I think the way this has played out will give them pause for thought.

The Taiwanese are a much, much better trained and equipped force. With a much closer relationship with the US than Ukraine has.

Obviously the Chinese force is huge but they are not very good at amphibious operations.

I think the Chinese are looking a lot further away to the north. A tempting border there, and no need for amphibious troops. The country the other side of that border doesn't have many friends to come to its aid.

I certainly don’t know how crazy this will get, but I see the lack of US boots on the ground in support of Ukraine is intended to avoid escalation and the possibility of a much wider and potentially nuclear conflict. If Putin moves against the Baltics or Finland or Sweden, the notion of avoiding a wider conflict has already happened. In such case, it will be time to take the gloves off, as it were, NATO or not, and put and end to Putin’s dream once and for all, while we still have AllIes and the freedom of action to work with. Hopefully there would be very smart ways to accomplish this.

Picture says it all - Spot the C*** of the month.

1.3 million of the inhabitants of a country departing in a week must say something significant and unfavourable about the way you do business.
If Putin considers financial sanctions an act of war, he’s seen nothing yet. He’s deranged.

Looking at the maps Russian progress has been fastest in the SE of Ukraine. I wonder whether Putin's intention is gaining a land bridge to Crimea and to create an enclave there including addional land for Donetsk and Luhnask.
When that has been achieved ask for a ceasefire and withdraw all his troops from from the rest of Ukraine???

it allows him an escape from his current position. I think you might be right. Interesting to see what the Israeli PM has to say as they are specialists in land borders

I tend to agree, however a Ukraine without a major port is going to be severely challenged.

I suspect that if he does go down this route, he will be wanting a significant lifting of Western sanctions, perhaps in exchange for a port…

GlobhalNav - We are not talking about some secret software for Facebook here.. If you and we can't see it, it's not there. Although that's not to say "it "can't be negotiated by sensible people on both sides.
