Sweden announced that they'll send additional 5000 LAW's to Ukraine. That totals 10000 LAWs from Sweden alone.
I'd hate to be in Russian mechanized infantry.

A senior NATO military officer says NATO estimates that Russia has suffered between 30,000 & 40,000 battlefield casualties in Ukraine through the first month of the war, including between 7,000 and 15,000 killed. It is NATO’s first public estimate of Russian casualties (AP).

And it appears the Russian Defence Minister has heart problems, hence why he has not been seen much, shot through it? Stabbed? result of falling out of a window?. Heart not in the war?

?

Valid/Vlad source? I can’t keep up!

https://www.ukrinform.net/rubric-ato/3437016-russian-serviceman-surrenders-tank-to-ukraine-after-kyiv-offers-10000-reward-citizenship-prospects.html

“A Russian tank crew member has surrendered to the Ukrainian forces and handed over his fully operable tank after seeing in his phone a targeted text with the Ukrainian government’s offer that guaranteed safety, a financial reward, as well as potential Ukrainian citizenship once the war is over.”

This seven year old article in the Guardian quotes Putin as saying he could conquer the Ukraine capital in two weeks. (I'm not allowed to post a link but the article is dated
Tue 2 Sep 2014 12.02 BST)
Vladimir Putin has said Russian forces could conquer the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, in two weeks if he so ordered, the Kremlin has confirmed.

Moscow declined to deny that the president had spoken of taking Kiev in a phone conversation on Friday with José Manuel Barroso, the outgoing president of the European commission.
And it's fascinating to read some of the comments. The top rated one says,
if Russia wanted they could but they haven't because they don't want to.

All this nonsense we've heard from Western armchair strategists of Russia planning to invade Eastern Europe is exacty that, Nonsense.

Regarding "casualties" defined as personnel no longer able to contribute, in the immediate future, to military operations.

An historical rule of thumb is that one dead is accompanied by three more "casualties" caused by injury, plus a fair number more by "illness" [depends on a multitude of factors]. This excludes prisoners of war, missing and mutineers.

Some realistic wargames scenarios use 20% "casualties" [as defined above] as a figure beyond which morale of all but elite units is very poor.

An intangible for morale is "cause". Fighting for survival in one's own country against ill-motivated, ill-informed invaders produces heroes and martyrs and winners. I am surrounded by people who do not even suspect that the comfortable assumption of 2019 are untenable.

One more problem for Russia is the oft-quoted 3:1 superiority of attackers to defenders needed to take an objective,

Without resort to MWD, I fear that Russia and the Ukraine will bleed each other close to death.

Meanwhile the British whinge about the Chancellor, the soaring cost of living etc etc, whilst blanking two existential wars to be paid for: Covid and the Ukraine.

Not trying to be flippant, but it's a bit like watching some bloke trying to be hard, and picking on a smaller bloke but getting his ass kicked then resorting to going to the car park, finding the little guys car and door keying it because he can't fight him properly

That’s a stretch, and while perhaps an understandable spectator perspective, innocent lives are being taken in an unprovoked act of murderous aggression. Hard to make valid sterile analogies to this. I don’t mean to be be critical, but we must understand the practical, tangible reality of this highly immoral international crime. Just put the names of personal loved ones on any of the Ukrainian victims. Think of the remarkable heroic actions of the Ukrainian people to stand up against this aggression.

I understand the caution which hinders the West’s defense of this courageous, sacrificial democracy, but can’t wait til we have had our fill of Putin and are finally.willing to fully share their burden and fight to end this criminal conflict. May Putin and all who are with him burn in hell eternally.

They will need them, as munitions expenditure is proving to be very high, with munitions which were thought would last 2 weeks are being used in 2 days.

I am currently on a business trip through Levant and Middle East then further East, and while in Jordan witnessed many coming and going of unmarked freight aircraft. Some of these came from both the Balkan area and from the US, and military A/C from US and several Gulf States, as well as having some very professional looking ex military types stay in one of my hotels in Aquba in southern Jordan. Many of the A/C did not show up re destination or indeed where they had come from on flight radar 24. The locals say this has been going on for sometime, though one of the Gentleman let slip that they are scouring the area for old Soviet kit as well as leaning on friendly states to loan supplies of Manpad and anti armour weapons. Indeed the Kempinski in Aqaba felt a little like an episode of the Night Manager at times !!
Cheers

Of course they will, no question about it, and I am glad they are getting the support. Why I am bringing it up is the exceptionality of the situation ie. Sweden providing weapons and the scale of it.
Pootin has really kicked the wrong beehive this time.

Stay safe!

Where is Mossad when you need them?

Vlad needs to be introduced to the pointy end of an umbrella to put an end to this insanity.

Seeems clear from this video, that it is the ship and munition exploding rather than the adjacent oil tanks (berdyansk LST Tank Project 1171 ship)

Looks like a later strike on the bow during this video or possibly something cooking off.

There's another video circulating clearly showing secondary explosions and debris falling in the harbour, plus another ship fleeing the scene. Bizarrely in the same video people seem to be going about their daily lives - walking their dog up the promenade.

Britain just announced they are sending 6000 more as well. Stocks of LAW’s around the world must be getting low.
