It was your assumption that NATO would not respond if baltics were invaded after nuke to Sweden/Finland.
Then I said that I'd be surprised if NATO would not react on invasion/nukeing the baltics.
I certainly don’t know how crazy this will get, but I see the lack of US boots on the ground in support of Ukraine is intended to avoid escalation and the possibility of a much wider and potentially nuclear conflict. If Putin moves against the Baltics or Finland or Sweden, the notion of avoiding a wider conflict has already happened. In such case, it will be time to take the gloves off, as it were, NATO or not, and put and end to Putin’s dream once and for all, while we still have AllIes and the freedom of action to work with. Hopefully there would be very smart ways to accomplish this.
