was in for op reasons switched with EI-DEA. Good news at ORK today Aer Lingus announced new twice weekly ORK-PMI route from March 28th 2011 as i said before using the free slots on Mondays & Thursdays. Will be a good and profitable route as more & more charter companys begin to use scheduled services.

Bucket and Spade routes

Great another bucket and spade route any chance they or Cork Airport might develop some routes that might bring punters IN to the City rather than Out,

Ryanair is adding Tenerife/South and Gran Canaria from Cork.
They will play alongside Aer Lingus (TFS) and chartered flights operated for Sunway (LPA).

I hope Irish holiday operators will look further to the Eastern Med, by adding destinations such as Dalaman, Antalya, Sharm el Sheikh or the Greek Islands.

Ryanair at Cork

More bucket and shovel routes. Aerlingus and what's left of the tour operators should broaden their horizons as going head to head with Ryanair will be difficult to say the least.

hearing LPA, TFS will commence in Feb 2011 & ACE will return in Apr 2011. Also ive been told a further announcement will be made soon for Cork Airport, again regarding FR, European market to be developed. Also Ryan2000 TFS with EI last summer had loads of 90%+ and ACE around 80% (competed with FR), also FAO, AGP, ALC had factors of 65% to 75% during direct competition with FR.

Royal Airforce BAe 146 in Cork today, military registered.

Looked very sharp.

An Aer Lingus crew commented to atc..."posh visitors"

The atc reply to this humour was "covert..."

Hmmm.

Anybody care to shine some light ?

A quick look on airliners net, shows the plane has been used by royalty... maybe best friends Mary and Elizabeth met up for a covert cup of tea!

I hope Cork haven't sold out to Ryanair. They don't want to go down the route of SNN and take all these luvly flights that make their their timetable look busy!!! Is this Deja-vue??

All is not rosy with all these Sun flights... Pax weary of what they can buy at the airport (due to Gate Bag charges), get dropped to the airport by friends and relatives to avoid car parking charges....etc etc in effect they spend sweet FA overall. Will there be a NET cost to Cork for all these flights?

Nothing worse than a busy fool!!!
