FUE loads out of Cork looked good i'd say ruffely around 65% load factor definitly over 100 pax onboard, as to if the FR sun routes will return thats upto FR managment at this stage. Also anyone think FR have gone a step too far over the EI incident? http://www.broadsheet.ie/wp-content/...2010/11/23.jpg

Ryanair would have loved for that to happen on one of their flights, the publicity Aer Lingus has received is something Ryanair thrive on so they're just trying to get some of their own publicity off the back of it. You still read the advert and think of Aer Lingus and see their logo so it's win win!

Some good news from Wizz Air:
Katowice will now operate 5 flights weekly for summer 2011 compared to 4 last summer.

And EI updated booking system:
ORK-CDG depart at 06:40 on T,T,S to operate SNN service.

Aer Lingus have now decided to cut BCN for summer 2011 again. It will now only operate on Wed, Fri & Sun.

This means there is now free slots on Mondays, Thursdays. Which suggests increased flights or a new destination. I hate the way EI have now structured their ORK base servicing SNN to be honest i think if SNN really needs the CDG service one of the 320/321's in storage could shorly be put out of storage and used for tech prob's and also to service the 3 x weekly CDG service. The only thing EI are now doing is leaving themselves open for attack:

1) FR will see oppertunity for a BCN service instead of re-introducing REU.
2) FR will increase or just return ALC to 3 x weekly as it preformed well in JUN, JUL & AUG.
3) FR are more then likely to introduce BVA on top of this making the hole EI operation at SNN & ORK defleated and maybe even loss making.

At the end of the day Ireland is in a really bad cituation at present and the IMF could soon be en-route to T2's offical opening to pass threw immigration on the way to the Dáil to take over the finances of the country. SNN does not need CDG that bad they've got Dublin to their NE & Cork to the SE what im getting at is the country is f**ked and a CDG service is not needed that badly to under-cut a profitable Cork base since 1999.

Huh? Where did you pull that from. They dont have any aircraft in storage. They may well be flying less hours and parked up during the day, but there are none in long term storage.

Theres four 321's stored, and one A320 on tech duties in Dublin at the moment and sorry i got my NW & NE confused. And by stored i mean mothboled for the winter (e.g. stored up for Nov-Mar)

In fact there are three A321's on tech duties as far as I know for the entire winter time. There are no 320's on tech duty. A320's/A321's are not being used as much during the day during the winter as they are during the summer but this is mostly for maintenance purposes.

KAVS8 relax man you're sounding fairly bitter about the fact that the entire summer schedule is not completed yet. Airlines around the world are planning closer and closer to the beginning of a season's schedule because of the global recession and because of what their competitors are doing. There's not as much money going around. Don't worry the gaps will be filled and EI will be utilising their aircraft to the max as they have for some time now. Chill out man. And don't worry FR will fill in the gaps that EI or someone else doesn't so ORK will be served just fine.

SNN does not need CDG that bad they've got Dublin to their NE & Cork to the SE what im getting at is the country is f**ked and a CDG service is not needed that badly to under-cut a profitable Cork base since 1999.
This mud slinging at everyone doesn't do anything for ORK. And just for the record SNN does need a Paris service - where do the people from the West and North West fly from to get to Paris?

Well, my wish list would be if the three Dopey Airport Authority airfields could be at least a thousand miles apart from each other everyone on here would be a lot happier. Maybe, snn feels it is so justified in having a Paris route of some kind. Okay, there were up to three AF/City Jet flights on the service with mixtures of ERJ135/145 and Avro RJs from CDG and the FR to BVA - what were the loads like then? If the loads were so good why did it all end and to end in such a way that Cork operations are to be poached away. Another dirty trick.

It would be an idea for snn to throw their hat at it and either allow FR or EI operate in and out completely for free for a year and let us see what happens. Equally, the same offer should be made by the shower loafing around at Cork.

Call Ducksie's bluff - call Herman the German's bluff.

Neither Cork or snn has little left to lose - both airports are banjaxed.

wow it is such a pity that the 4 321's didn't have the legs to do USA East coast. Then ORK would be all set for NYC and BOS:-)

@Jamie2k9

The above (2 flights per day) is not consistent with Kavs8 previous post, which is backed up by the RTE report. What period are you referring to? Is that just to bring us up to the point where the evening flight is scrapped?

Actually it will continue to be operated by a Cork based aircraft.

The schedule for the Cork based aircraft on Mon to Friday mornings will be:
Depart ORK 07:15 - DUB 08:05
Depart DUB 08:40 - LPL 09:30
Depart LPL 09:55 - ORK 11.00
Depart ORK 11.25 - LGW 12.50
Depart LGW 13.20 - ORK 14.45

The afternoon timetable doesn't seem to make that much sense but I'd guess that after a bit of moving around of flight times the afternoon schedule should look as follows:
Depart ORK 15.40 - LPL 16.40
Depart LPL 17.05 - DUB 17.55
Depart DUB 18.20 - ORK 19.10
Depart ORK 19.35 - STN 20.55
Depart STN 21.30 - ORK 22.50
