I know they may pull out but why would they announce a new route the day after they say they may pull out.

In regards to MUC, NCE, ALC & TFS are not on sale from DUB or BFS so can't see any of them being dropped.

That slot was free as the same slot is used on Sat for TFS. Anybody think SNN will give discounts to FR for LPA, i dont think they should as its returning after a six month break.

Also judging by Ryanair's announcement to close all operations from BHD they certinly have the balls to do the same at SNN.

BACK TO THE CORK THREAD.

Sad to see no 2nd FR at ORK 2moro final day at ORK today, FR are due to release their timetable for Summer 11 in late October/Early November and O'Leary has said the routes will be returning as they are profitable Summer routes. Wonder if PMI will be transfered to ORK as it was a wash out at SNN this summer virtually 40% to 45% on all flights (Load Factor).

I think the Summer 2011 schedule should look quite a bit different to the Summer 2010 one.
LHR/LGW
Anecdotal evidence would suggest that LHR is doing fine, even with LGW, as the LHR flights seem to be full on the A320, even with the LGW flights and connecting traffic is strong as ever. However with LGW dropping to single mid-day flight for the winter, who knows whats going to happen there.

MUC/AGP/NCE
Assuming EI Regional lives on through the winter and the 4th A320 returns next summer there should be a fair amount of additional capacity as MAN and BHX are likely to say at 2x daily on EIRegional equipment. So the schedules will probably look quite different to the traditional summer schedule. Maybe even room for some new routes....

Looks like EI & FR load factors could be 60% +

Cork Summer 2011

I doubt if we'll see a 2nd TFS. Maybe LPA. Ideally they should go to MXP and capture some of the Northern Italy business altough that would probably put an end to the topflight charter. Other question is what'll happen to BHX and MAN if Aer Arann can't continue with them. Will EI do a W from Dublin or will BMI baby or Jet 2 emerge. Intersting times in Cork.

If those times are correct, I guess there's a few possibilities for what can be done with it

- More rotations than expected to Munich or Alicante
- More rotations to Paris
- Restarting an old route like Berlin, Madrid or Milan
- A new route to Palma, Catania or Bilbao

The new route or restarting of an old one (as it will be announced as new) is always the best marketing opportunity, bu there might be more profit to be made from just adding rotations on an existing route.

Considering one of the rotations is a Sunday evening, it could be tailor made for Paris.

I note that there are extra frequencies to Paris this year on Tuesday and Thurday evenings in October. If it can be profitable on a Tuesday and Thursday in October, it definitely can be on a Sunday in Summer.

Ryan2000, i can definitly see your point but ACE has also been increased to 3 pw from 2 pw. TFS had strong loads this summer even though it was once-weekly. Would love to see PMI, but maybe SXF or other routes listed will return as said above who knows?

Just to clarify the routes i listed above are all actual times except the ones with (**) the indication mark next to them.

Ryanair Route Map

The Ryanair route map for Cork has been updated to remove La Rochelle, Bordeaux, Reus and Lanzarote.
However Alicante is still showing as a route. They forgot to remove it, or will it be announced shortly?

EI new Cork route on We and Su 2012

I'd say Milan or Venice would be the airports choice but don't rule out LPA as that's a no brainer. Only problem is that it will put further pressure on the Charters.

Increased Frequencies

Summer 2011 lol , i think you might be right their Ryan2000 i'd think maybe SXF returning, new route to either MXP/LIN in Milan or PMI. But who noes at this stage. LGW route is still not bookable (usually Business type services have priority in EI timetables) but i guess its also not bookable from NOC. Any EI developments from Cork will be good this year....

On another note FR have increased winter schedule frequencies,

STN - Was 12 weekly , now double daily.
DUB - Was 13 weekly, now double daily.
LPL - Was daily, now 9 weekly flights (extra capacity on Fridays & Sundays)

Also theres the addition of AGP, FAO both twice weekly. Cant wait to see FR's planned expansion at Cork for Summer 11. Should be a good winter ahead, for ORK okay EI have removed an aircraft but with SNN recieving a 21% slash to its schedule with FR & transatlantic flights removed in Jan, Feb & Mar , Cork cant have that bad a year ahead...

I agree with kavs8, I think ORK is holding it's own, although I think it will be a case of a "less bad" winter than a "good" one. It's good to see FR with extra rotations for the winter. Those extra weekend LPL services should do well.

Great to see EI bringing the A321 back to Cork next summer and coming back to 4 based units. Hopefully RE will make it through and we'll see many ATRs on the ramp too.

Brian.

Kavs8, Shannon having less transatlantic services makes things better for Cork how exactly? Considering Cork has no transatlantic services the Shannon pax cant exactly flock there as an alternative

I've read many times and you've not suggested what you are referring to, only saying it cant be a bad year ahead with cuts at Shannon.

Therefore I suggest you retract your snide personal comments.
