I would not bother with the Become a Pilot Book. Its a money spinner. It is good on motivation etc.. but if you need a book for that why bother spending ££££'s on a CPL anyway.

As far as I know you can do your IR with just a PPL but not many organisations offer it!!

Having already shelled out around £5k to get my JAR PPL I am likely going to go and pay out for an FAA one. Mind you it shouldnt cost what my PPL did.

It depends on your circumstances if there are any sponsorships. To be blunt, you have more chance of finding Lord Lucan than getting a sponsorship!!
