To what degree must the AIM-120 be integrated with the A/C radar? Isn't it's target designated by the onship fire control system and then guidance picked up by the missile enroute?

Russian culture, exists in yogurt apparently. The land that produced Tchaikovsky, Perelman, Sakharov, Dostoevsky, Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, now gives Putin, Prickgoesin, and these criminals.

That's a time honored tradition in Russia.

Lacking any sort of graceful way out, it means Russia has to overrun Ukraine - and declare its own peace with a middle finger to the rest of the world - or die trying.
That last part being particularly scary, since it could easily mean the use of nukes.
It may be, but then paradoxically, it gives a bargaining chip to Putin, he can add prickgosin and various others to the sacrifice, and trade himself amnesty. Otherwise he has direct statements in giving directives to conduct war crimes. Putin cares about Putin, not Russia, not anyone else.

Depends on the required guidance modes you want to enable.

Simplest mode is boresight - you fire the missile and it locks onto the first thing it finds. Really just a dogfight mode.

Next is preprogrammed. The aircraft gives the missile a tgt location and the missile flies towards the area and then goes active. Downside is the further the range the less likely the target is to be inside the box, especially if manoeuvring.

Last is mid-course update where the aircraft provides updated guidance and tgt data till the missile goes active. That however requires both missile/radar integration as well as the datalink antenna for the missile inside the radome.

“Let them eat squirrels”… 🙄🙄🙄

Russian propagandist Skabeyeva says that some restaurants in Great Britain started serving squirrels because of the food shortage in the country.

She implies that all the money went towards weapons for Ukraine, and now Britons must eat squirrels.

Their Generals spend too much time watching Bond movies and dreaming of the "old days".

You were just making up ****. Doesn't matter execution of a POW is a war crime. There is not situation where a POW can be executed, if he committed a war crime he is supposed to be handed over to the ICC for trial. Even then the ICC is no longer permitted to execute criminals. You are just astroturfing and trying to justify a war crime being committed by the russian

And of course
The U.N. human rights office says Russia and its armed allies in Ukraine’s Donetsk region are planning to put Ukrainian prisoners of war on trial, which could amount to a war crime.

The trials reportedly could take place in coming days in Ukraine’s port city of Mariupol. The U.N. rights agency expressed concern that POWs charged with a crime will not receive due process and guarantees of a fair trial to which they are entitled.

U.N. human rights spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani said under international law, POWs have combatant immunity. She said they cannot be prosecuted for having participated in hostilities or for having committed lawful acts during an armed conflict.

“No sentence or punishment may be passed on them unless it is delivered by an impartial and regularly constituted court," Shamdasani said. "We recall that international humanitarian law prohibits the establishment of courts solely to judge prisoners of war and that willfully depriving a prisoner of war of the rights of fair and regular trial amounts to a war crime.”

Shamdasani called Russian authorities’ refusal to grant independent monitors confidential access to prisoners of war very worrying. She says that leaves POWs open to torture to extract confessions from them.

“And, of course, we are very concerned that there are these photos and video footage that are emerging of cages being built in Mariupol’s Philharmonic Hall to put on show these prisoners of war, which is of course, humiliating as well," Shamdasani said.
