Would the Iron Dome be useful in Ukraine, or is its range not sufficient?

The AK-47 didn't need any advertising.

Why go through iron dome when NASAMS can do the same thing and arguably better. Iron dome lost a shootout to enduring Shield system that uses AIM-9x for a multi billion dollar contract. Also iron dome was found not to interface well with modern western layered engagement networks. It could be fixed if you throw money at it, in the end the US never bothered. The US has 2 iron dome systems but they seem homeless they are contnuously being moved around and reassigned

And before you say it no they cant be sent to ukaine with out permission from israel

Quoting to make the twitter post available to those who, like me, can't see some of the original links. A person to be emulated; glad you're alive!

At one point the Patriot was crippled by a mismatch in keeping time between different segments of the control system, mainly due to a difference in the number of bits used to represent how long the clock was running. This was not seen in testing and would be unlikely to have been a problem in the original capacity of anti-aircraft system, but missiles move fast enough that there would not be enough time to boot the system - so they left it running for days and weeks at a time and the clock errors compounded. So one system would say "fire at this time" and the receiving system would, being 3-5 seconds behind, wait for that time on its own clock. 3-5 seconds against 1000+ ft/second means the missile cannot locate the target.

Since then the software was repaired. Not sure how well it performs now, but it's not shooting at empty sky due to clock errors.

Sorted masked by the Patriot rumors, theres also JDAM rumors as well. How many strikes are UAF managing to get in a day and would they be that useful. Other interesting thing is that both korea and australia worked with boeing to create wing kits to allow them to glide further.

Possibly boeing might be pushing for these and SBD to try and get a few dollars out of it

What the hell is Elon Musk playing at?

On the one hand he's removing Twitter bans from nutters and extremists, and now he seems to be imposing bans on those actually using Twitter to do something both useful and important. I get the personal information bit, but there are good reasons for wanting to track dubious "private" Russian movements, and they've been banned as well it seems. I'll lay money there were unofficial partisan groups using some of that data to plan their activities.

I doubt I'd ever have been in the market for one of his cars, but I'm damned sure that I won't ever knowingly buy any other product from one of his companies now. Pity, as Starlink looked like it might have given us a better option for phone/internet when the lines get taken away in a few years.

Ref invisible Twitter posts, this has come up frequently. If using Chrome, select "quote". The result is a fresh page with the link highlighted. Select "copy link address". Now, open a new page, and in the address bar right click and you should get "select and go to..." Works for me. A pain, but at least posts are visible.

Baron R

Simply add it as a quote too, it will appear BTW to most as is, just some PC's have a problem seeing it like yours and mine, so I pop it up as a quote which will show and a link as per yours.

Russian main oil refinery struck by a stray cigarrette.

The Angarsk refinery is the largest of its type in Russia. It is the 2nd “incident” which happened in a short period of time. A fire was reported on the 27th November.

Forget the Lada, have a cake... A rather Marie Antoinette moment, the peasants have no bread winner, let them eat cake...

Long range Drones that Ukraine has been modifying for their deep strikes. Though the scheme does not look Ukrainian?.
