Is Ukraine about to have a war?

Not wish to be critical, but its a surrender of multiple persons in a confined space, which appears to be a little rushed/mis-managed.
So the UKR have a forward position (cameraman) and a covering position (lying MG).
The surrendering people just stroll out and lay down without any individual search or clearance of them.
An approach may have been too clear and secure each one as they emerged, ie hands up and walk towards, then after clearing them - remove them to the rear of the UKR line, at least backcuffed. Being covered as they exit (presumedly from the build door) in an X config with covering fire available from the lying mg.
No hands up means offensive so....

Meanwhile in Russia someone's been careless with the matches again.

As I suspected, Russian authorities confirm that the gas grid got attacked in St. Petersburg. It must have happened in the forests East of Murino. Russia has there high pressure gas pipelines which also feed the gas power station near Lavriki. …

Who would have thought that firing missiles at a neighbour in order to win their hearts and minds by denying them light, & heat, would result in OH&SA violations in the shooters home towns. Golly. Gonna be a cold miserable winter in the Rodina. Sad.
One would think that the same karma issue comes up if Vlad and his merry crims make a mess at the ZNPP, the home team would have to think about their own NPPs being well set upwind of most of their major cities.
Personally, would like to see the carriers of the hammer 'n sickle back on their own turf, that is the bit near by Rostov, the bits that don't say "Ukraine" on them other than on Vlad's cartographic efforts.
A blood red flag over the crimlin seems to be fitting, as is the azure sky over golden fields of grain on the Ukrainians flag. If Vlads stormtroopers don't want to go home having enjoyed the hospitality of Ukraine, then the next rendition of the Ukrainian flag may need to have blue over a field of sunflowers to reflect the enrichment of Ukraines lands by the donor hordes from the north.

One thing that has been missing from the publicly available reports I've seen is an assessment of the level of internal opposition within Russia to this war. Every war always has some within the aggressor state that object to the actions of their government, and very often some of those that object to their ruler's objectives choose to take direct action. We had saboteurs in the UK during both recent world wars and the French resistance played a significant part in defeating Nazi Germany. We have seen a few unexplained explosions within Russia, but there seems to be very little information as to whether these were accidents, the result of Russian partisans that object to Putin's actions or whether they are Ukrainian special forces operating covertly within Russia. There may even be a slim chance that there are groups from former Soviet Union/Warsaw Pact states that are acting as saboteurs within Russia.
If this carries on, I wonder how long it will be before someone very close to Putin, like Sergei Shoigu, takes a bullet for him, or suffers from a forced defenestration?

U.K. to provide 125 anti aircraft guns and radar, do we actually have anti aircraft guns bar the GPMG or I presume miniguns?
Personally I find it rather ironic that the world developed more and more expensive missile systems to sink ships or destroy targets resulting in more and more expensive missiles to take them down, or the likes of phalanx gun.
Then along comes a really cheap suicide drone that can be easily produced in their thousands and launched in their hundreds which although they can be destroyed by the expensive missiles, show up a glaring problem in both missile cost and resupply due to production lead times.
So it’s time to again dust off the relatively cheap and basicbullet, sorry GDT peeps, rounds, and machine gun.

Didn't the UK "Acquire" some radar controlled twin 35mm systems during the 1982 Southern Hemisphere unpleasantness? Thought they'd be in a museum somewhere but needs must......
Other than that, we did have a lot of .50 Brownings in various models.

Skyguard Radars are still used for EW training and for other stuff. The Guns however went to museums a long time ago. I suspect the UK has been buying other people kit to give to Ukraine (like the 105mm guns we gave them).
sorry abt bolding
If you are interested in an in-depth discussion on the war in Ukraine, on why we need to continue supplying arms, its historical context and what may be the probable outcomes, may I recommend this debate between three eminent historians; Max Hastings, Margaret MacMillan and Peter Frankopan. It is an intelligent debate between knowledgeable civilised people. I think you will find it very informative.
