Some might think trenches , others might think “preparing for mass graves “. Just in case another wave of COVID or something like that were to appear from one of those secret laboratories doing research that might be construed as not quite cricket .
No need for nukes , if they release some of the viruses that were being studied in those foreign funded laboratories in the Ukraine . They could fill those trenches pretty quick and might have to dig a few more miles of graves .

Germany delivers first of four Iris-T SAM system to Ukraine

Germany has handed over the first of four promised Iris-T SLM air defense systems to Ukraine . According to SPIEGEL information, the handover took place on Tuesday near the Polish-Ukrainian border. In doing so, the federal government is keeping a promise that Chancellor Olaf Scholz ( SPD ) had already made in the Bundestag at the beginning of June . Most recently, Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht (SPD) promised an early delivery on Monday. The first handover was originally planned for November.

According to the federal government, the weapon is the most modern air defense system in Germany..............The Iris-T SLM air defense system consists of three vehicles: a launch pad on a military truck with space for eight missiles, a radar vehicle and a command vehicle. The anti-aircraft missiles can hit targets up to 20 kilometers high and 40 kilometers away. Their range is thus significantly greater than, for example, that of shoulder-launched anti-aircraft missiles such as the Stinger anti-aircraft missiles also supplied by Germany to Ukraine.

------With the first Iris-T delivery, Ukraine will receive a defense system that the Bundeswehr itself does not yet have. The first so-called fire unit was actually intended for Egypt , which commissioned several systems from Diehl Defence. Cairo now ceded a system to Ukraine. Three more Iris-T systems are to be delivered to the Ukrainian war zone next year. Exactly when is open; the anti-aircraft weapons have yet to be manufactured.

Testing to see what actually works? I thought they were trying to conserve ammunition? I can’t believe they (Vlad) are stupid enough to start a 2nd front!! Or is this getting any serviceable SSBN worked up?

And the Maginot Line,

Setting aside the Great War, which for many reasons was very different, we have to go back to Wellington's successful Lines of Torres Vedras, Peninsular War, over 200 years ago.

One problem with defensive lines is they have to be manned, which fixes the enemy, and is hugely demanding in troops, as all the line needs protection, and the attacker can concentrate a schwerpunkt by choice. The defenders, of poor training and low morale, can be made to keep their heads down and be blinded by smoke.

This defence needed a mastermind .... cometh the hour, cometh the man.

Now that you mention it, it was announced a month back or so that Putler himself took the high command even down to a company level tactical decisions. Apparently his nostalgia towards Soviet Union and Peter the Greats era relates to military doctrine as well

Mastermind indeed.

New picture of the ANTONOVSKY BRIDGE, it looks like one side of the expansion gap appears to have dropped slightly in the image. Posted by Special Kherson Cat.
