Putin elected to have this party, he wears the crown of laurel leaves or thorns, as is appropriate. What has happened to date is that around 150,000 Russian citizens have been hoodwinked and will not soon forget their leader placing them in harms way.
In the meantime, it appears that Russia wants to provide additional target practice to the Ukrainians in the Black Sea, that should be interesting. At that point, GPS targeting of the longer range smart ordnance would seem to be a worthwhile gift from the Ukraininans to the Residual Forces of the Soviet Kleptocratic Republics Navy. Alternatively those countries that prefer to constrain Ukraines access to munitions with effective range to defeat the Russians on the waves, air and waving fields of fire scorched wheat, get to own the consequences.
Russia's indiscriminate targeting practices are policy and historical facts, they care nothing about the civilians, their own or those of there nations. Not giving Ukraine the capability to respond effectively means European and American and other nationals will end up doing the job that was frustrated by the indecision of the leaders we have the misfortune to be encumbered with.
There are few occasions where acquiescing to a brutal bully has ended well. There is no difficult decision in right and wrong here.
