Is Ukraine about to have a war?
That's one heck of a bang, shortened post of the same tank Wokkafans has posted, look how high the turret goes. another view of the tank in clip two but from above. The poor buggers wouldn't of had a chance, at least it was quick.
That's what I think too. 13km from Russia and 80km from Ukrainian forces (not including Mariupol)

No indication as to what struck it. Arty maybe?

What I don't get are all the cars and vehicles seemingly going about their normal day.
Is it just business as usual, don't bother me I won't bother you in Ukraine? Or was this tank just parked in a side street and not part of the battle.
Just got taken out by a UAV spy ?

Deadpan
There seems to be a bit of dust of the road to the left on the view from the film crew, which could be either dust from traffic or artillery, but when you look at at the shot from a drone no dust visible so that must be out of shot, so I think my money would be on a drone strike. As Nutlose says they would not have known much about it luckily.
Cheers

I don't think the 2 tank explosions are the same from different angles - where are the vehicles, so obviously close on the street level view, in the top down one?

They are not the same - the aerial view clip is from a while back.

MQ 9?
Back on 13 April Forbes and Defence Post reported that Ukrainian officials were in discussion with General Atomics to purchase MQ 9s.
Certainly would be a useful addition for the Ukrainians.
However, everything seems to have gone quiet. Security or has the sale been blocked?
Does anyone know anything?

Ecce Homo! Loquitur...

Deliveries of the German Gepard (Cheetah) AA system have been delayed again - the first delay being due to sourcing ammunition for the system.
From Welt - apologies for the poor translation
"Germany delays arms transfers to Ukraine due to an alleged misunderstanding between the German and Ukrainian governments.
At the end of April, the German Ministry of Defence announced plans to hand over 50 Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled guns manufactured by Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) to Ukraine. According to sources close to the Ukrainian Government the German Government did not inform Kyiv that the Ukrainian Government needed to order Gepard direct from KMW. The Ukrainian leadership was, instead, focused on receiving instructions from the German government for their delivery.
However, in Berlin it is claimed that from the very beginning of discussions it was stated that Kyiv would order the systems direct from the manufacturer, with the German Government only needing to give permission to the company to deliver the 50 units
According to Welt the German Ministry of Defence "does not know when the announced" Cheetahs "will be delivered to Ukraine."

What a bunch of C********* the Germans are, and that ain’t coconuts. If there was a war on at home they would be on trucks and heading to the front tonight

Do you mean rear? Armed with broomsticks and ADAC choppers and forbidden to patrol at night? Germany are the new Italians, without the flair.

As to Aviation Content:
Russian Backfire allegedly caught from a cockpit view
Our ship was overflown by a Backfire, or two, when we did FoN ops in the Black Sea back in Cold War days (mid 80's).
