Russian saboteurs in Poland turn out to be from Belarus.

Showing remarkable clairvoyant ability Belarus have released all their details and protested their innocence - before Poland has named those they arrested…..

"The treaty allows certain types of weapons with submunitions that do not have the indiscriminate area effects or pose the same unexploded ordnance risks as cluster munitions. Permitted weapons must contain fewer than ten submunitions, and each must weigh more than 4 kilograms (8.8 lb), and each submunition must have the capability to detect and engage a single target object and contain electronic self-destruct and self-deactivation mechanisms.[8] Weapons containing submunitions which all individually weigh at least 20 kg (44 lb) are also excluded.[9] A limited number of prohibited weapons and submunitions can be acquired and kept for training in, and development of, detection, clearance and destruction techniques and counter-measures."

Plus Ukraine and Russia are not signed up to the treaty.

“Banned” by whom? Some countries have agreed not to use them, but what entity can ban them, and what authority does such a ban have?

UKR is using these munitions on their own territory, not someone else’s and will have the unenviable task of cleaning up after.
Until then they fighting for survival.

Here we go again! "NATO don't want to upset Russia". If that is true then we might as well hand Ukraine to them on a plate and see where that will get us a few years down the line!

Poland breaks with NATO allies by pledging to send fighter jets to Ukraine

Story by Antonia Mortensen
Poland on Thursday pledged it would send four MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine, the first NATO member to do so, in a significant move in Kyiv’s battle to resist Russia’s onslaught.
President Andrzej Duda said the planes – from about a dozen that it had inherited from the former German Democratic Republic – would be handed over in the coming days after being serviced.
Saw this on CNN.

But surely, a Mirage is a synonym for an optical Ilyushin? (Sorry, don't know your name but Shirley will do)

A very powerful statement from the chairman of the U.S. Joints Chiefs of Staff today. He doesn't pull any punches condemning the Russian attack on Ukraine or the allied response - obviously this speech was vetted at the highest levels. Worth a watch.

Slovak Mig-29 summary

Surprisingly Slovakia is willing to deliver 13 Migs, not just 11 as it was announced before. The reason is that except 10 modernised airframes (2008) also 3 older ones will be added to the batch. Slovakia has actually 14 of them but one will be mandatory given to a War museum as stipulates the law when some a/c type is grounded indefinitely.

Except Migs Slovakia will send also two batteries of KUB short range antiaircraft system.

As a compensation Slovakia will receive 200 million € from EU and material equipment from USA million worth 700 million €. Details of the deal were not disclosed.

Type of Slovak Migs is 9.12A Ukraine uses slightly more advanced 9.13 (better radar and range). Slovak Migs have instruments in NATO standard e.g. altimeters with feet, Ukrainians use meters.

In theory for such a transfer Slovakia needs permission from Russia but government will not bother, the same was valid for S-300 system donated to Ukraine in 2022.

Has Russia by any chance got a tie up with the designer of the mad max movies?
It all harks of desperation, unless they are designed to be static bunkers along their defence lines they are building.

Polish is plausible. The truck seems to be a STAR, which is common in Poland but less so in Ruzzia.

I see one of two explanations for the Sky story being so wrong.

First, they were provided with completely false intel.

Second, they’ve uncovered a major corruption scam where people in the arms acquisition chain are operating a scam where they are producing paperwork (with corrupt Iranian cooperation) and claiming the funds for buying ammunition, but actually using it to buy vehicles and other goods for sale to launder the funds back into legitimate accounts.

On March 8th, @SkyNews published an article about 2 Russian cargo ships which allegedly shipped 100 million bullets and 300,000 shells from Iran to Russia. Together with @pustota we found photos made on board of one of them during that trip.
