ISITD,

Have you checked out the thread " Why is the RAF obsessed with status ?"

I have come to realise that as an ex Mover I really am at the bottom of the food chain and a very low pond life.

It has also made me realise that there are a lot of sad sad b@st@rds out there who are probably suffering some sort of identity crisis.

Glad that I spent all my service life on the AT fleet and didn't have much to do with the elite of the service.

Echo 5,

For elite should I say 'pointy ended' chaps?

For the lowest in the foodchain dosen't always mean the lowest in status:

'Every man an Emperor' - Field Marshall Montgomery extolling the virtues of airborne troops in WW2. The lowly grunt, often maligned but surely the best and most effective 'pointy bit' in our armoury?

RAF Officer = Pompus gits (vast majority, those that I know/know me no offence, troops!)

ABIW,

Just picked up the whole story on Wubs' thread. Methinks the real reason that you're pi$$ed off is that you didn't make it to the Fatherland to stock up on the Amber liquid.
True or False ?

Looks like the popularity of Movers has once again spread to the Ascoteers thread.
Some cretin calling himself " Reichman " doesn't seem to know where he should be posting.

E number Herr Reichman has a few points

"What I cannot stand is self opinionated shiney fleet bully boys who through their position try to impose their will on those they perceive as lesser mortals.".........Movers are lesser moratals......if in fact mortals at all

"If that DAMO in Washington had had any backbone".........as a typical mover why should he be blessed with a skeletal system

"The car was a legitimate piece of indulgence freight" and no doubt the previous onloads and susequent chalks had all been "sorted" so this thieving gypsys car could get home free of charge...........al la akronelli

"With regards to indulgence passengers - ie your chums family.Fortunately it is the movers who wave the magic wand and decide who will or will not travel and you will have to live with that"........who's the feckin facist now you muppet

"Re your statement - "Having been at the receiving end of movers mean and spitefulness since that episode it would seem your wish continues to come true" - Hoorah.
It gives me great joy to think that perhaps on at least one occassion I have managed to f4ck up your day"..........and how many other well intentioned folks days have you fecked up with your small minded attitude...........

ABIW,

Welcome back. As usual your input is much appreciated.

" and how many how many other well intentioned folk " etc.

Well, I hope that I haven't fecked up the day of any of that kind of person.
I cannot see how it can be recognised as being well intentioned by offloading someones personal propery or condoning such an action out of malice.

With regard to indulgence passengers. The point I was making is that again it is responsibility of movers and not the crew to decide who will travel.

Anyway, just for a change, why don't you discard you blinkered view of movers and offer a considered opinion of what is right and wrong with regards to the current arguement.

E5

Edited for spelling correction !

Get back in the galley and get the tea on you wuss... I think I mentioned before the sad tale of the odd Herc crew/ALM damaging private cars with their inexperienced baggage handling! Why do you hate the World? Remember pre-1964 all AQM/ALM/WSO/Wusses were duvet fluffers on a flying tour. No hassle them days as they were still flexible and had no pretentions. Many years ago as a muppet my team had zap stickers entitled 'Aircrew Employers' is that not still the truth? I know that you still think pound for pound you'd rather carry fuel. Working in civvy street is much better, the Airline freight carriers don't have your breed and so the Dispatcher (Mover) deals direct with the Captain and on the civvy freighters all the Loadmasters are ex-Movers anyway!! Still, in the mob we have to deal with you but people with your attitude are in the minority and so we can live with it.

p.s. Bad move saying you went to Hannover via Edinburgh, I now know who you are..........

Blakey.....

1964..eh?? Sorry can't remember that far back, I'm just a young lad see!!! Looks to me like you are living in the past. As for damaging cars, I've carried an indulgence vehicle safely back from the west Coast only to find two highly valued 'Aircrew Employers' screaming around the car park doing donuts. A couple of name/rank/numbers later improved my mood somewhat.

You are correct that the civvies don't employ us...but they keep muttering that they should although they cannot afford it. Several crashes may have been avoided.

ABIW is not too worried that you probably know who he is now....he has, after all, got your 'hero-worship' from your stated location.

Notice I did not say sad...giffer...or mover in the same sentence!!!

Regards to Most

J Bloke,

“Screaming around the car park doing donuts”.

Certainly they were.

The car was probably delivered full of fuel.
It is all part of the pre loading and DAC safety check.
If you have ever had to siphon a fuel tank orally, you will know that the easiest way to get the fuel level down is simply to burn it off.

As for the donuts – well unfortunately JATE never managed to work out a tie down scheme for every vehicle.
The guys were obviously working out the level of travel on the suspension, to ascertain the number of chains required to lash round the brake pipes.

Makes for a much safer flight for you guys

Blakey old chum,

If you knew me, and I stress "if" as there were 2 of us on that trip , you would see through my posts as the wind up material that they are

There are far too many important things in life for me to worry about, however 30 years service has given me the bug for the odd wind up

Hence any chance with you guys and our "camed" up cousins and I can't resist

Now ML, there is a great ad for your trade!

Blakey,

Don't suppose it really matters which one of the two he is as long as he keeps winding up the cammed up crowd.
You know ISITD and the Grim person were a pain in the ARRSE in the early days but I'm starting to miss the banter now.Wonder where they are.

Ze "enemies" website

Yeah, just checked out that site. Looks great.......zzzzzzzzz. Amazing what you can think up after 7 hrs swinging in a hammock down the back.
And to back up a previous reply, after 6 yrs on Pumas, I never saw a mover load the cab either. Ever.
