This is all very interesting but what is the relationship between RIAT and Movers and Loadies. Trust a pongo to get his threads crossed.

Cool

This thread has me cracking up ! It is nice to see that some things never change.
At the end of the day you choose or are directed into what ever trade or branch you or you masters decide. If you have the talent you can move up, across, sideways, whatever.

To perform well in the job there needs to be a team. T he person who makes the tea is equally as important as the person who sits up the front or hand out the socks in the stores. But it is typical of service mentality to view other trades, etc which are not our own as somehow inferior or superior.

No doubt I will get a lashing for this viewpoint but given that I started as an airman washing pots, graduated to a tech position, moved into NCO aircrew and now have the fun of actually doing the driving, i believe that I can safely make the point that it doesn’t matter where you start so long as you enjoy it on the way and don’t hurt anyone on the way. If your happy to be on the ground that’s fine, equally if you are happy in the air that’s great too.

I still enjoy after 20 years in flying, at all levels, getting up, going to work and being paid for my hobby ! might sound a bit daft but that’s the way it is. So to all those who push, pull, brew, drive, write, wash, fix, etc etc many tks.

Remember we all have a job to do, pull together.

All this inter-service bitching does nothing for morale and ones blood pressure!
Any one for a brew? I'll make em for you all as a show of solidarity!

ABIW,

Cannot picture the Grim person as either Gene Hackman or Willem Daffoe. Picture him more as Donald Pleasance in The Great Escape. Remember the little weasly one aka "The Forger".

Regards to all.

PS: Forgot to insert (he he) cos it's only a joke !!

It's a bit like "day-jar-voo" but I am sure I have previously posted on her the gulf in ability between muppets in Wiltshire and their highly proffesional and obviously far more capable counterparts in Gib to plan and load Albert

Today in wilts inflight delivered the cake whilst the movers delivered an extremely large portion of ar@e ...........no surprises there then

Thank the lord we had a three and a bit hour Wx delay which allowed the extra time to sort things out.........but still the pax were delivered 15 minutes late

Counter that with the superb efforts of the boys in Gib who in under an hour got the 60 pax, the band euipment and all the bags off, re roled and loaded 2 vehicles and a stack of loose

I just hope the Binsworth chap who posts movers to and from reads this and short tours the whole gang from Gib back here which would make a massive improvement to the current inept situation.

Obviously had a good day then Wilts, what with four posts last night.

Just loved that one on the "J" thread..........."The oxygen thief lives on"............priceless !!

Glad that the guys in Gib are continuing to impress cos it goes to demonstrate that not all Movers are gits as you constantly try to remind us.

Regards to all.

Does ABIW ever have a good day Echo 5.

There is a good bet he is the most miserable man to go down route with (i'm sure he will disagree with a "****, blame the movers").

Perhaps he can expand on his usual drival ref an arse load instead of whinging on, then perhaps something could be done !

I have a feeling i've been down route with you ABIW and if you are who i think you are, well the same could be said about ALM's (alot of good ones but a few strokers in there to !)

E Bloke,
The warrant down there is a top bloke which obviously rubs off on his team as I have seldom seen folks "cracking on with it" so well.

MM .................could do better!

MM,

I hear what you say but should ABIW start to mention specific cock ups along with time, date and location then it wouldn't be too long before his identity was compromised. We are after all supposed to be anonymous and so we should be. Personally I enjoy the banter with him and anyone that can wind up the masses like he does gets my vote. But then..............I don't have to work with him !!

Regards to all,

Your right about giving too much info, would not want to incriminate myself either.

As you might have read from earlier posts I dont like people slagging my fellow tradesmen off for the world to see just because they obviously hate movers and no one can answer back !. Thought it was a bit of banter from one or two at first but sometimes its a bit too close to the bone.

Lets even it out, i'm sure there are a few movers / ex-movers who can tell a good story or two about crew f*@k ups.

ABIW - You are correct in saying a good WO down in GIB, good lads n' lasses too. With as little work as they have to do, its no surprise every effort is taken to insure a good QTR ,the lads are keen and glad for an aircraft to load.

MM.........so predictably ill informed

According to the gent in question he has had to approach the powers to be to get either his staffing levels adjusted or group to stop constantly planning arrivals and departures outside published opening times..........which is what his manning levels are based on.

So your assumption , and not for the first time, holds no water

As for the "I hate movers".......if that were the case please explain this and previous posts on this thread when I have sung their praises unprompted

I don't hate movers.....I hate incompetence and that is all to frequently on display here in wilts......from all quarters I hasten to add

ABIW/MM,

"I don't hate movers.....I hate incompetence and that is all to frequently on display here in wilts......from all quarters I hasten to add ".

On this lovely summer evening ,just fed and watered , I cannot be arrsed going back through the thread to recall accurately who said what. However, at various times both myself and Blakey have commented on the Muppet leadership and we weren't just talking DAMO level but all the way up and it is there my friends where the incompetence begins and ends. Unfortunately it's the guys on the ground, the majority of whom just want to do a good job, are the ones who get the backlash when everything goes t!ts up.

It's a shame that if anyone high enough up reads this thread and hasn't got the balls to start putting things right. I think we all know that this just aint going to happen so bite the bullet.

Regards to all,

E5

For all you Wannabes, there's a bit of activity on Freight Dogs on the "Loadies" thread. I wonder how many of you from either " persuasion " can fulfill the requirements.
MM/ABIW....thought you two were ready to rumble ?

Movers vs loadies vs GE's

Pound for pound I'll take the Loadie, kilo for jublies I'll take the mover (she won the best "winning the arguement by having the best chebs" at the Basrah dinner night)

How about crew pay for the 2nd loadie ,ie, the GE, I always put him in the auth sheets as ALM2, that was his job after all.

You can train a GE to tighten a chain in 30 secs, the rest just , well, Is it legal, where's it written down, where's the paperwork, have you taken the bayonets off the Paras yet.......don't let them board the aircraft with a pair of nail clippers.

Thank God the SLF will never spot the fire-axe now that the Muppets have taken the Gerbers/ Leathermans off the regular psychopax.

Oh sugar, not like I'm on a roll but!!

Q. 2 x C130....75 pax,

A. 1 x75 ... 1x empty.. obviously...dohhh

Ohh, while I'm on the subject..

cat Q for Muppets ...
What's the difference between hold baggage and hand baggage on a C-130.
A. Shut up and just drive it Capt.

Back to the original thread...Movers vs Loadies???

GE's everytime;..........
