Looks ex USAAF from the diamond shaped dispersals. |
South Africa? Fruit growing country? |
Further down the boot then? Southern Italy?
Does the fruit growing reference apply to vines ?
I'm wondering if we should go NE of Italy.
Possibly the USA then.
Cryptic.
Initially thought Bora Bora but it can't be. |
New Zuland ?

I’m obviously a bit dopey, what we’re all the boot references about? :ugh: |
What sid said!

Thank you. Here is the next mystery aerodrome:

No swimming pools. Not a tourist town. Livestock roam freely, sometimes even on the airfield.
No idea where it is evansb but I love the glide approach. Full flap, idle power and Vref+5 will put you right on the numbers.
Caribbean possibly, quite likely wrong, but I was spot on first time with Jenkins far flung airfield!
According to the runway markings, no instrument approach on 24.
Bern was like that, and served by '146s, but it's not Bern. |
Not the Caribbean. Initial photo on final for runway 06, which is just over 4,000 feet long. Due to terrain, most departures are off runway 24. Ramp shot below:

A Southeast Asia vibe... Indonesia perhaps?
Not Indonesia, but yes, somewhere in Southeast Asia.
JENKINS is correct. It is indeed Basco (IATA: BSO, ICAO: RPUO), an airport serving the island province of Batanes in the Philippines. On December 8, 1941, it was the launch airfield for the Japanese to bomb Clark Field at Manila.
