friartuck 15th Sep 2018 09:55

well done shackman!!!!

Dr. Luis María Argaña International Airport is an airport that serves the small city of Mariscal Estigarribia, in the Boquerón Department of Paraguay. The airport is named after Luis María Argaña, a vice president who was assassinated in 1999. It is operated by Paraguayan military authorities.

The jets look like Canberras,or Meteors..

dook 15th Sep 2018 13:34

It's familiar to me. I think it's Changi.

sycamore 15th Sep 2018 19:05

Think that maybe a Hasty ,or Valetta fuselage, for para/loading/rescue practice...doesn't appear to have wings...Can`t be `66 as I`m sure all Cranberries op`d out of Tengah, and if you look on the `RAF Routes` thread, there seems a lot more concrete for Brits,Comets ,etc,etc...as we was at war with the neighbours.....well,where I was,FEAF were still posing in No1s....

mgahan 16th Sep 2018 01:51

Apologies for the delay - yes it is Changi circa 1971. A cropped photo!

Well done dook .

Big change these days, including the coastline.

I'm doing some work on T5 and RWY 3 and was on site in 1976 when the "opening" ceremony was held and initial foundations laid for the "civil" airport.

Many thanks MJG.

Mr. Tien in downtown Singapore did a mean line in quality hi-fi in the late sixties.

Is this in the tropics?

dook 17th Sep 2018 08:32

Nowhere near the tropics but it is on a large island.

friartuck 17th Sep 2018 11:33

Is it some scratty corner of the British Isles? hard to tell what the vegetation is but I can think of some odd corners that look that disheveled

dook 17th Sep 2018 11:53

It is indeed a part of the British Isles.

jensdad 17th Sep 2018 12:37

If it's on a 'large island' I'm thinking it's actually on Great Britain or Ireland, rather than an outlying island? If so, haven't got a clue where it is!

dook 17th Sep 2018 12:43

It's in Oirland to be sure.

Part of the British Isles but not the United Kingdom.

friartuck 17th Sep 2018 14:11
