The England women's football team arrived this morning back from Zurich on a Air Nostrum CRJ after playing a friendly against Switzerland. With the EUROS 2022 starting on the sixth with several matches being played at Brentford and Milton Keynes with the final at Wembley (sold out apparently) it will be interesting if the competition generates any extra movements.

I can’t remember the last time an ambulance has met a business jet yet Luton gets 3 medivac flights in 90 minutes during the night ban including a domestic. I wonder if the threshold overnight has been reduced to an alleged cut finger?

The airport broke the night-time noise rules for 3 years on the trot which is why the summer overnight ban was put in place regarding business jets when they were rumbled. They did it then because they thought they could get away with it.
The Arab flight was a Bombardier Global 7000 not noted for medical emergency flights from Abu Dhabi, There was a flight from Newcastle with the third flight from Stuttgart. I doubt there is a single medivac flight a week yet three land in 90 minutes during curfew hours.

[QUOTE=LTNman;11252567]I took my first trip on the newish non-stop EMR to St Pancras last Saturday and I have to say it was a shocking experience. The train was made up of 2 trains each with 4 carriages joined in the middle to form a single train making it impossible to walk from one end of the train to the other. The train was packed out with standing passengers plus the train had no luggage racks for suitcases. It was clear the train was old commuter stock that had seen better days. The old hourly service used to be formed of a dedicated long distance train that was far better and was complete with tables. By contrast the 12 car Thameslink train for the return journey was a breath of fresh air, as it was light and airy.
On a positive note, tests will be carried out on EMR’s new fleet later this year and during 2024 passenger services will be introduced with the brand new ‘Aurora’ which I hope will meet your expectations!

I was starting to get excited but I can find no evidence they will run on the St Pancras to Corby line, which is the route that stops at Luton Airport Parkway.

The airport pushed for 4 trains an hour, as part of the EMR franchise agreement, but ended up with 2, which is still better than one. The whole experience now though is very disappointing compared to the old rolling stock and is a major downgrade. The airport will be able to claim a 30 minute journey time between terminal and London via the Dart so it will look good on paper but I feel EMR want to discourage airport passengers from London in using the service by providing no luggage space.

The restriction is on movements. It sounds like something dodgy took place that broke the curfew on at least one leg.
Many years ago when my company used to operate frequent organ transplant flights we were exempt from curfews and that included positioning out empty back to base. Whether that still applies nowadays I don't know.

Luggage space on Thameslink
https://www.thameslinkrailway.com/tr...-board/luggage
The advantage with Thameslink is that the 12 carriages have no internal doors between each carriage so passengers can easily roam in what appears to be a single carriage that bends.

the other advantage of Thameslink, is you can sit in the first class section at the back of the train, regardless of your ticket, as that is permanently declassified on TL. Just dont tell everyone.
