SilverJet terminal
What happened to the former SilverJet terminal? I've always wondered what was done with it when SJ ceased operating. I remember reading somewhere that a new airline at the time had planned to use the terminal, and had taken down the SJ signage etc, but not sure what happened to the building after? Is it still there today? It looked great from the TV commercial SilverJet ran when promoting their flights to EWR. I wonder if Luton will ever see transatlantic flights again?

Debonair only ever occupied the check-in desks in the original extension to the front of the old terminal. It was built as a covered coach drop off area but later filled in.
Debonair check-in
Silverjet occupied the old terminal corner.
Later, it became a staff security entrance. Note the Silverjet Lounge sign located just inside the door that can just be seen in the above SJ photo.
It then became the temporary arrivals area.
Later still, it once again became a staff entrance again, which remains to this day but even this photo is out of date, as it has moved back to the old entrance, rather than the side, and the whole of the front is now hidden behind a fence.
As for the old debonair check-in area, that later became a chapel, it then got merged into the new build.

I completely forgot about the old Debonair check in area! Brings back some happy memories. I always had quite a pleasant experience on Debonair and their product seemed quite good. They just lacked any identity as to what they wanted to be or do.

Found this photo of their check in area. On an iPad the photo can be tapped to make it full-size.

Looks like Wizz Air have moved their Podgorica (Montenegro) operations from Gatwick to Luton from the start of November.
So a nice new additional destination for the airport, operating twice weekly on a Sunday and Wednesday.

Certainly not the doom and gloom that some predicted with a massive decap South of the River.

It ended up parked in the NW corner outside Signatures hangar.
Reported to first hold south of Southend then Stansted before heading to Luton.
Strangely Flightradar24 shows its departure from Luton but not its arrival. The aircraft appears to be a LC night stopper but the last flight of the day went straight into LC on the 15th as did all the flights on the 16th. Flight tracking replay confirms this.

Very strange, as Flightradar24 24 shows the flight being tracked on the 16th as straight into London City without deviation. Clearly it lies.
