if there is a niche route that LDY can sustain!
I'd also point out that I'm never negative about your statements Carn, my negativity stems from frustration at airlines to expand. When you think LDY you think of FR, BE needs more than one route from LDY to overcome this effect, and thus attract more traffic in search of flights from/to LDY to their site.

The current Winter schedule is terrible!!!!
The below is a day by day draft:
Mon:
PIK 1040, LPL 1330, STN 1800, BHX 1810
Tues:
PIK 1040, LPL 1330, STN 1800
Wed:
PIK 0825, LPL 1230, STN 1800, BHX 1830
Thurs:
PIK 1040, LPL 1330, STN 1730
Fri:
STN 0925, PIK 1040, LPL 1230, STN 1730, BHX 1805
Sat:
PIK 1040, LPL 1120, STN 1730
Sun:
STN 1055, BHX 1440, STN 1730, PIK 1825, LPL 1835
Is Ryanair expecting a huge influx of business PAX to use the PIK service on a Wed morning, leaving PIK at 0715 is ridiculous. I know these times will most definetely change but RYR don;t have long left to do so. I believe they have 2 months before the schedule is due to start to make any changes?
All in all the schedule is sh*t. BE may make it look a little better.

Prehaps you'ld experience less "negativity" if you didn't make so many bold statements that allow you no wriggle room to distance yourself from ( see the corker in post 1903 - 4th July!)
The majority of posters here want the same thing - a Gatwick route, a selection of Domestic routes like Bristol, Leeds, Edinburgh and Newcastle.
They want someone like Flybe or Easyjet to provide competition to Ryanairs stranglehold on the Airport.
They want more summer routes like Malaga and an increase in the amount of Palma services etc etc etc.
Printing speculation by your friend in an Airport 100 miles away and dressing it up as fact won't bring the posters dreams any closer.
I hope your friend is right, I really do. I hope you are posting a "told you so" to me v v soon and we are all bowing to your superior inside knowledge. My ego could just about withstand it if it means the Airport gets the much longed for Gatwick route and Manchester all year around.
unfortunately, I ain't holding my breath. Wanting something and it actually happening are two very different things - especially in Aviation.

Just checked the timing of the MAN - LDY service today, and although I know some airlines now over state the duration of a flight, BE seems to have done it by quite a margin. Advertised to take 1h 5mins, the flight today only took 44 mins! Not bad considering its a tp.

Jamie, what are the chances that come the Summer schedule announcement we see STN going double daily, as since the 2 double daily days went on sale, LF's have only gone up to what 92% for June!
Also do you see any new summer routes being announced for LDY or even an increase in rotations to locations already served?

I see somebody has added EDI to the list of destinations on the CODA Wikipedia page.
I hope he/she has done this because they know something (for a fact), rather than just being a hopeless optimist.
Apologies in advance for my negativity.

Looks like it was put on August 1st by someone with an Eircom IP. It was then taken of last night at 23:50 by someone with a different Eircom IP. I've checked every morning this week to see if anything has changed on the BE booking engine, but alas not. However there was an "offer" of £24.99 one-way, leaving LDY Sept 1st and returning Sept 8th, both Thursdays. I first noticed it when there were 13 seats, which subsequently fell to 8, then 3 then the offer was finished. From looking at the percentage of reserved seats, Thursday looks like the only poor load flight and I'm sure "offers" like that would rectify this.
Flybe also beat Ryanair hands down on last minute flights, I've checked recently and a flight booked 2 days in advance is on average £120 -£140 return, whilst FR from LPL is £230+
I bet we'll see another increase in LF for July, in the region of 53-55% which would prove the route is increasing in popularity, it thus seems a waste of perseverance through the tough first months of the route to just stop it, even if it returns next year. I'll repeat that BE need to offer a number of routes at once as opposed to just one at a time, as the more they operate, the more chance they have of becoming synonymous with LDY.
I will be using the route this Monday, so will report back once I've arrived in LDY. I'll also try and take a photo of the aircraft on the apron after arrival, so at least we'll have the memory of BE at LDY on Wikipedia.

On another note the security area is getting a major revamp at the minute, it looks good and should mean everything runs a lot more efficiently.
Carn, where in my post did I suggest it was you? If I thought it was you, would I refer to the poster as "he/she", when you have the word "lad" in your username?
Lay off the paranoia and the victim complex. Neither are necessary, nor endearing, and if anyone on here does have a go at you, it's because you've brought it entirely on yourself (ALPHA ECHO hit the nail on the head above).

That's not bad for a Monday. I flew BHD to BRS with BE last Thursday and I'd reckon there was about 35-40 on board.
Hopefully they'll keep it going, though it seems unlikely at this late stage.
Enjoy your trip home and get yourself over the Peace Bridge for some stunning views of the city.

I thought it was quite good too, I fly back out Thursday week so I'll report on figures for that flight too.
The town really does look great at the moment and heading to the bridge tomorrow, the council are really taking the finalist in the Britain in Bloom competition seriously, can't believe the amount of Flower beds and baskets. (Any contributor reading this who hasn't been to the City, book yourself a flight! )
I don't think we're going to see the route extended year round this winter, but there is still hope for it being announced that it will return. Who knows it could start earlier in 2012 than it did in 2011! Hope you're still keeping your fingers crossed for EDI or LGW or anywhere!
Btw, I used public transport for the first time to get into town, I used the got the Goldliner service from Coleraine to L'Derry, £3.10 and 20minutes roughly to get into town. Very impressed by the frequency they call at the airport and the price.

Aye, the 143 from Limavady calls at the airport on its way into Derry. Thing is, it calls everywhere else too! Cheaper than the Goldliner though, so useful if there are a lot of you.
I've been doing that for the last seven years on here!
Hope you're still keeping your fingers crossed for EDI or LGW or anywhere!

Aer Arann don't fly Donegal Edinburgh, they fly Donegal to Glasgow. The routes seems to perform quite well so they certainly wouldnt want to get in beside Ryanair on the Derry/Glasgow market.
They also had planned to operate Derry/Edinburgh and Manchester but these were cancelled before they got off the ground sadly. Good opportunity for Flybe if they do list it.
