I see todays Thomson flight to PMI was operated by a Sunwings Canadian A/C.
TOM have 2 B738 leased from them. BFS and DUB based.

So that's it for Dublin with Aer Arann. It won't affect pax numbers at LDY at all, however, it will give a hell of a boost to LFs from the airport!

As an aside, I see on the airport's Facebook page that there is a comment from the airport that you can fly direct to Manchester.....until September 25th. Is this route really going tear round?

RIP LDY - DUB.

In regards to the Facebook post, I wouldn't look to much into that. CODA said nothing official about MAN until well after we knew the route was coming. That route wasn't announced to the very end of February/start of March, 10~11 weeks before it was to commence, there's about 10 weeks until the route is due to stop. They better pull their finger out though!

On the Airport's Face Book page i see another comment but this time is states that the Airport have been in discussions with Flybe regarding a year round service and it all depends on the numbers over the coming weeks!

Also was talking to my mate in DUB earlier who stated that RYR were definetely changing to EMA from BHX but got a wiff that BE would be interesteed in the BHX route. Therefore RYR have decided to stay with BHX to warn BE off!

So Carnmanorlad, let's clear this up.

MAN ISN'T definitely going year round, as they are discussing it now.

EDI....God knows.

LGW....they'll have a look if they have any slots.

EMA was on the cards, but FR are too afraid of BE taking over BHX.

Dear oh.

I'd get some new sources if I were you!

Dear oh Cuthere your full of it aren't you!?

BE will be at LDY for the Winter, i believe my source is reliable. I was merely stating what was said on Face Book but obviously they wont confirm anything without BE first making an announcement

Carn, full of what? Your statement:

Ok, RYR are to drop BHX for EMA. This is from my mate who works for them in Dublin.

BE are to make MAN year round and also add direct EDI & LGW.
....was pretty comprehensive and definitive. FR ARE moving to EMA. BE ARE taking MAN year round and ARE adding EDI and LGW.

Since then, the EMA has been proven to be incorrect; BE are hoping for slots at LGW, so as they can maybe, perhaps who knows start from LDY; MAN will be extended IF the numbers in the next while are good. As for EDI.......

So, if I'm full of anything, it's frustration.

Furthermore, if your statement above is full of information from your source, then, as I suggested already, you may need another source. No offence meant to you. Your enthusiasm for LDY is excellent, and believe me, I do hope you and your source are correct.

Carnmanorlad the PMI flight has been operated by Sunwings all the time this season. It's based in BFS, and does BFS-PMI-LDY-PMI-BFS on Tuesdays

I'm not going to loose faith Carn. If I was FR, I wouldn't want to had BE a well developed customer base on a silver plate either... so makes sense that they ditched the EMA idea, after all that move made no sense at all!

I would start being concerned about the MAN route if no announcement was made by mid August, but I think we will hear something soon.

Looking forward to using the BE service for the first time, this day fortnight. Has anyone else actually used it yet? If not... shame on you.

I was having a look on the airports Twit ter page and it says " why not visit the UKs second city in Birmingham, you can fly direct from CODA with Flybe" Is this a mistake or a little leak?

Its the same on the Facebook page too. Error or accidental slip. Doubt we'll see BE there until at least the next summer season.

In other news, MAN is now bookable from NOC from November. 4xDaily. Slots are different to LDY's so no death knell sounds yet. I remember though that NOC got EDI before LDY got MAN. What was the time difference though? Come on BE...

Am I right in thinking NOC-EDI was 5xweekly during July?

If so, the 1086 that used that route in July is some way short of the 1558 that used LDY-MAN.

If only!

You are getting your months a bit mixed up, 1086 was the June figure for 3xweekly. It is 5xweekly for July and August, but too soon for any figures yet.

Carn? When is the next feasible time you could get an update from your contact? Are you personally still confident that we'll (sorry, LDY will) get EDI?

If Flybe are planning to go year round on LDY - MAN route they are leaving it very late to add flights for late sep and oct. People would book about now for then.

Thumbs down

Yeah, to be honest looks a bit late for it, perhaps we've seen the height of BE's retaliation...

I dont really come on pprune anymore due to negativity from certain members.

What i wanted to say is BE will make a statement shortly and are apparently looking at the market to see if there is a niche route that LDY can sustain!
