Bad news unfortunately, TFS has officially been cancelled from LDY.
Ryanair opens new routes to Bergamo (BGY),Kerkyra (CFU),Argostoli (EFL),Bristol (BRS),Albacete (ABC),Nottingham (EMA),Barcelona (BCN),Chania (CHQ),Almeria (LEI),Rhodes (RHO),Zadar (ZAD),Hahn (HHN),Nador (NDR),Lamezia-terme (SUF),Tallinn (TLL),Glasgow
Good news is ALC is not on the list as cancelled so still hope for it to return.

Anyone know why the 17.40pm Friday arrival from Birmingham is currently in holding pattern over Coleraine / Portstewart / Portush at the moment?
Currently on it's 4th rotation, will post a screenshot later.
Doubt it's due to traffic, I wonder is it due to runway de-icing as it's got very cold out here?

I was having a look at the Thomson webpage and it seems LDY has Palma, Costa Dorada and Costa Brava listed for Summer 2012. Nothing is bookable for Costa Brava yet. It seems to be on a Friday along with BFS, DUB, SNN AND ORK.
Anyone have any info?

Anyone know whether the Europcar minimum renters age is 21 at LDY as per their website? Reason I ask is I was told by Hertz staff a few years ago and online that I could rent a car at 19 with them from LDY. When I arrived, they said... "Erm no!"

Great to see ALC back. I thought with last years load factor it would've been increased to 4 months this year. Still, at least the airport has kept the route.
ALC runs on Mon & Thurs during July and changes to Sun & Thurs during August.
Hopefully more good news to follow!
Will Orbest Orizonia still use A320 on the REU route?

Ryanair have officially announced the return of LDY-ALC on the airport's website. It finishes by stating the 2012 Summer Schedule is still being finalised and final details will be announced shortly.

Ryanair have not yet finalised their Summer Sun 2012 schedule, but as soon as they do I will let you know via our website and social media sites.
Ryanair announced that its popular Derry to Alicante route is back in the summer 2012 schedule, which will now offer 6 low fares routes.
Seats on Ryanair’s summer route from Derry to Alicante will go on sale today with fares starting from £57.99 one way inclusive for travel in July & August.

That would suggest TFS not back then again it being Ryanair they may decide to stick it back in lather.

Does anyone think we will see a route to LGW this year? I think it's the only other domestic route that would be sustainable.
Also at what point will be see new airlines for 2013 (City of Culture Year?), will we see any or will RYR add capacity?
I see PAX figures for 2011 are 407,885 - making 2011 the 3rd busiest year in the airport's history.
