Biden is waking up to the threat of drone warfare and the USA are working to address the problem, The Ukraine has clearly shown that the drone has come of age in a spectacular fashion, from sniping, targeting and delivering weapons onto the enemy.

Bundestag approves transfer of heavy weapons to Ukraine

The resolution passed with 586 votes in favour, 100 against and seven abstentions: votes against came from the far-left Die Linke and far-right AfD.

It really surprises me that Scholz was absent for the vote - on his way to Japan. He seems to have a burning desire to stay as uninvolved as possible.

Apparently the British have intel that Putin is about to declare war on victory day.
Just as a thought, wouldn't it be a perfect timing for the west to give quarantees to Ukraine that if a war is declared it will be assisted.

Yes, I know, pretty much impossible due to umph amount of reasons, but just a thought.

Tanker AND trooper

I spotted Boris one apparently trooping AKT-BZZ just last week, and now back on the towline just west of WAW. VFM for the UK taxpayer?

Story is that just recently a railway bridge the russkies used to transport weapons from Crimea to Melitopol has committed suicide.

It is horrible what special military operation does to the mental health of railway bridges.

Mobilisation carries enormous risks for Putin - 1 million+ people under arms in a country with all its pressures, pinch points and fault lines. What could possibly go wrong?

Maybe related to this, but Biden is pushing for a $33billion aid package for Ukraine.

Still can't understand all the discussion regarding Russian and the UN. This path has been so well trodden its turned into a trench.

To do that he will be admitting to the public that the standing army he has been exalting all of these years is but a fantasy and that the losses are larger than they have been letting on, I read the USA was saying in men and material he has lost nearly 25% of the standing forces available, the fact they are returning damaged vehicles back to Russia to repair has to be an indication of the state of play with their reserves, if its easier to patched up a damaged tank than replace it, those in storage must be bad.

It's going to be a hell of a shock to the Russian public to learn their sons are being fed into the meat grinder to replace those losses they have sustained and even with general mobilisation, they are going to need to equip, train (even basically) and transport them to the front, top that off with the sh*t supply lines that are struggling to support the army at the moment, a bunch of extra mouths to feed and supply may hopefully cause those supply lines to collapse.

All the turkeys on Russian news spouting the "I think we are already in WW3 now, and it's NATO's fault" are obviously following the script to allow Putin to announce the war and blame the West..

Apart from its livery its just another tanker/transport, routinely in use along with the rest of the fleet. Unless I'm mistaken it only gets called for VIP duties in certain circumstances, not every time Boris travels abroad.

NutLoose 28th Apr 2022 16:13

Inrestingly I was reading their shopping list of what Ukraine want, see

https://www.thenationalnews.com/worl...re-war-in-may/

M113!!!! They are Vietnam era and If i remember correctly were not that well armoured, hence why you always saw the American troops riding around on the top of them in vietnam with sandbags around them instead of being inside them.

It looks like the M113's are on the way

Photography is not quite the same as parading a prisoner in public and making them admit their "crimes"

He's been taking lessons from our own PM, who often finds a sudden need to travel

Russians have been executing Ukrainians trying to surrender near Donetsk, surely that just makes your job even harder as they will fight to the end.

It's not bickering, it's a Special Disagreement of Opinion...

US House of Representatives has just adopted a Lend - Lease Act by a vote of 220 for, 205 against.

A reasonable request. :ok:
Given the amount of noise that side discussion has generated, the offending posts have been moved to their own thread which can be accessed by those interested in the complexities of that political topic.

Russia is an interesting character - almost like an out-of-control oversized kid playing dodgeball. Russia just lobbed two missiles into Kyiv and hit a residential high-rise building, damaging the first two floors. Hardly the behavior of a super power and technologically advanced military.

Britain states Brimstone will be surface based and arrive in the next few weeks, we are sending hundreds as anti shipping.
