You have to wonder if this is winging its way to the USA by now.

Read this, they woke up in the morning and everyone had gone, three others turn up that were out on guard and were not relieved, they went back to their camp to find out why and everyone had gone.

According to the Russian media its all the ex western troops, " Mercs" doing the fighting, USA, UK and Poland.. This all according to the DNR leader Pushilin who if memory serves me correctly Pushed Off and quit.

Crab, I don't think that they do. India is "on its own side" and has been since the time of Nehru (see India's long standing position in the "non-aligned bloc").
Their long running dispute with Pakistan is not related to the Ukraine - Russia war.
While they they have accumulated a lot of Russian kit (including Mig 29s and Su-30s) over the years, that hardly aligns them with the Russians. (They have also got Rafales, for example).
Sure, they bought some gas cheaply recently, and why wouldn't they? It's not their fault that the Russians and Ukrainians are having a war.

It would not matter why the Americans made a deal any kind with Pakistan for F-16 parts and support - India would still show disapproval.

Well, it’s fair that India decides for itself what is in their best interest. Considering past experience, from which they apparently learned little, favoring Russian aviation equipment is a poor investment. What’s in the best interest of Indian leadership in the short term does not help the country in the long term. May they be accountable.

Actual proof that the Russians have scraped the barrel, a T62 tank. But see what it says on the barrel? FURY. Russian tank crew has obviously been to the movies, in hopes to be Brad Pitt. Maybe they thought theirs is as old as a Sherman, who knows.

India ends up doing a balancing act in the end. C-130J, C-17s, RQ-4 Sea Guardians, F404 engines from the US; Rafales and ASRAAM from Europe, Elta and IAI kit from Israel, MiGs and Sukhois and tanks and ships from Russia...

The Russian stuff is 1) cheap and 2) prevents China from getting all of Russia's love and attention.

Grain of salt before confirmed elsewhere, but if true it means that Russia has sacrificed its strategic deterrence for this "special military operation"... (these guys are supposed to control the ICBMs, not cock about guarding a camp in the forests waving AK47's)

Russians fake a video of the UKR SF boat attack on the NPP nuclear power plant by getting one of their own Ka-52’s to attack a static bridge support - but leave the data allowing it to be geolocated…..

He has a strong point - look at the millions of men in WWII who were trained and sent to war in months, versus the millions who got conscripted in peace and wasted years of their lives peeling potatoes and sweeping parade squares. There is a reason many countries got rid of conscription - and Ukraine is learning it might not be needed…

Drone pilots, IT experts, PR teams - better off getting off the street and, as he says, who needs to learn to march (royal funerals excepted)…

Shmyhal: Ukraine considers abolishing mandatory military service.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that the current situation has shown that men should undergo 2-3 months long preparatory courses every ten years instead of "spending two years learning how to march."

Does this then lend some credence to the recent thread about different physical standards for people recruited specifically for IT related tasks?

Russia has banned males leaving Crimea via the bridge so expect mass conscription coming, that’s going to piss on their Russian holiday makers..
