I seem to recall a VC10 at Thurleigh that had 2 Conways on one side and a fanjet on the other. Is that to which you refer - or did I imagine it? Wasn't there was also a Vulcan with an underslung Olympus?

Fortunately our captain came from DC3s and doesn't foresee any problem with proceeding for departure.

The experimental Segway landing gear worked flawlessly. Until the battery went flat.

Yes, it was a test bed for the Olympus pre going into Concorde.

Not an entry… The VC10 could carry a spare under the port wing route, it had mounting points to sling a Conway.

Normally the receiving aircraft must keep level flight behind the tanker ...except when a comic situation occurs

According to the figures we put in 40000 gallons but could only get out 35000 gallons ..
