July 2nd

Cool!

I have tentatively pencilled it in my diary

I think that's the day SydEY flies out.... (Sam, is it???)

Anyway next time I bump into C, I will ask her if she has the same start date as you... I have a feeling she may....

(You have a PM from me too)

Yeah Good Luck All

Not that I see any point in goin to these things!
Went to the last one and was advised to be there at 9!, got there at 830 and it wasnt until 930ish 1 x lady came out and gave us a time to come back!

Got an 1130 interview and waited, and waited and waited...till 330 and finally had my chance of 2 questions - what can u offer and why work for emirates!
We were told not to worry as next time they come back to syd they wouldnt do another open day! - JUST INTERVIEWS!

Mad Mad Mad - I wonder why Emirates are going through sooo many staff!
Not that Im bitter towards them - They just need to organise themselves BETTER!

disappointed

Chrisstreet, I am very disappointed that you have that attitude...

I have just been to an open day three weeks ago in Perth, for which I was called back and now I have been offered a position. I fly out to Dubai on July 7th. I have also been to two others prior where the outcome of the day was the same as yours.

You never know how the open days are going to work out, so I advise anyone that has their heart set on the position to go for it regardless!! Patience and perseverance are virtues and something Cabin Crew need a lot of...so please don't be negative on this site, just because you had a bad experience.

EK are organised, and they don't go through "so many staff". The company is expanding faster than any other at the moment, with their huge order of B777s, A340s and A380s etc. The company's fleet will double in size and they need the crew. For those crew that do decide to leave, it is obviously because the company is not right for them or the position is not right for them.

To anyone that is thinking of going to the open day..please do!! It is an experience and it may be your lucky day!! I also recommend that you read the main EK forum as there is lots of info about how the days are planned out and what to expect.

I nearly didnt go to the open day but now I am glad I did. My dream came true because I didnt back out.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!!

Hi guys...
just came back from my ek group interview in london. Didn't go well unfortunately. Don't really know why, but I can say that I've seen all what you guys have described in over 50 pages happening. Apparently nobody can understand what they're looking for, they took quiet people as well as very talkative ones. I was glad to see that ALL boys went through!!
It's a bit sad but I, at the age of 25, felt like I was really, really old. All the girsl were about 21-22 this is really putting me off re-applying, but this is what I want to do so....perseverance is a word that lives inside me!!! Some people who finally got through were at their 6th or 7th interview so I was really pleased to see them go on!!

I just wanted to say that I got to know some great boys and girls and I want to thank Aamir, in particular who taught me how to say "I love you" in Urdu today....very useful for me!!!

Thank you ppruners for the precious advice. I did give 101% today, despite the sleepless night, and I don't really know what happened, but all your words were very, very useful. Thank you so much xxxx

FBW

FBW, sorry to hear it didn't go your way today....

I am sure you will fare better next time... (yes there WILL be a next time! )

I know a girl who applied in her late twenties, she got in and has been flying for nearly 8 years, and LOVES it!!

So go for it, sometimes they would rather take the 25 year olds over the younger ones (like me) because you have more 'life experience'

Good luck next time!!!

skysista

Just curious why you're still so active on this Emirates forum when you were unsuccessful in your own application. Didn't you get a job offer from another Airline?

I know I will make it one day, Craic was a great example!! Perseverance, people!!

BYMONEK yes SkySista is still here and she keeps giving precious advice to all of us. Does not succeeding mean you

FBW, you pretty much summed it up!

BYMONEK, yes I do work for a different airline now (and I'm very happy where I am too), why am I still here you ask?

Well there a a few reasons:

1. To keep up with everyone's applications and interviews

2. To give (and get) advice

3. Because everyone is so supportive and I've made heaps of new friends here, and I want to see how their process of organising flights, medicals etc goes

And lastly...
4. To see what crazy methods EK come up with next!

Guys...Sky is a legend! We need more people like her to keep this forum going It is all about positive vibes..nothing less and boy does she shine!!

FBW, I am really sorry to hear about your day...but you will keep going! Don't give up on your dream! It took me a lot of time and sleepness nights but I finally got there. Amazingly enough..I nearly didn't go at all. My hair wouldnt go up, my make-up was a mess (or so I thought), I was running late...but I made it and look where I am now..99.9% of the way there.

To everyone on this site..BE POSITIVE!! This forum is a labyrinth of knowledge, experience, hopes and dreams of people from all over the industry, all over the world!! Use it to your advantage and you can't go wrong!

I couldn't have done it without you.

SkySista I think YOU expressed my thoughts this time!!!!
Oh Boy yesterday really opened up my eyes!!!
I am too very happy in my present airline, EK is the only one I would leave BA for. And I am going to stick around like you not just for myself but also if any new member needs advice!!

Craic you're right, it's all about the vibes!!
Yesterday wasn't a good experience, didn't feel EK at all, no signposts, nothing. It took me a while to find the room inside the hotel, the girls were not wearing the uniform and the girl who seemed to be the wicked one turned up to be much better than the one who was "sweet" at the first sight!!! They didn't give us an opportunity to talk and they didn't read our app. forms for sure. So I don't feel as bad as I thought, I just thought it was a waste of time in a way since I could have spent those hours with my love instead, before his flight back!!
Oh God if I am going to try again. I don't care, at the end they'll have to take me just not to see me ever again at the interview!!!
I have lots of things to sort out in these 6 months anyway and I will keep flying to DXB on short breaks instead!!
I am addicted to ID90s
So Craic, I might see you on the beach quite soon!!!!

Happy re-applying everybody!!! Inshallah.....
