flight517 - I couldn't agree with you more. This is indeed a forum to discuss the CAE-IndiGo assessment. But to keep coming up with the same query every now and then about not receiving emails for the test, why that particular person hasn't sent it to me and what not. Discuss questions, interview dates and venue - that's fine. I don't know. Maybe I'm the only one here who feels it is immature for Commercial Pilots to cry about not getting a call/emails for the exam or interview. Leave aside the competitive industry we are in.

Smurf, I cant agree with you more. I feel that the focus of this thread has shifted from discussing questions to discussing more about the letter of invite, its contents, its sender, etc.

@flight517: Most of the questions asked can be found in one of the 100 pages that this thread contains. People joining the forum want to take the easy way out instead of doing some hard work in going through the previous posts. I am sure that going through the previous posts will not only help answer their questions but also give them an in-depth insight in to the IndiGo hiring process.

I agree with you people tend to take the shortcut by not reading the previous posts but I dont think there is anything wrong with discussing about the details of the invite.

Just two days to reply..strange!
Anyways this email was sent by Parul Huria, Radhika H and Sandra Pinto have yet to send their share of emails so I guess most of us would receive the email with the deadline extended by another 4-5 days.

Does anyone know how many finally made the cut in the last recruitment?

ButterFly747

Ya guys..the indigo call letters have been sent out yesterday..i received one too..last date to send ur details is 7th oct.
The letter also says "As there is a certain number of candidates we can call for this attempt, we will be sending the call letter on first come basis. In case we reach the required number before you reply, you will not receive a reply to this email."

All the best to eveyone writting this attempt.

can anyone please post the email here on this forum..........

smurf84
6th Oct 2011, 11:48
flight517 - Have a look at the post above mine. This is exactly what I'm talking about. Nobody seems to understand. What importance does the content of the invitation email hold in this discussion? These guys are worried more about the email and its contents rather than preparing for the assessment. Folks, please take 5 minutes of your precious time by going through the previous pages of this forum. You'll find everything you need to know. The sender's email id, the contents of the email, the venue, the syllabus et all.

Now this isnt good for people who havent received the mail yet..I guess you have to reply as soon as you receive the mail now to get your foot in the door. The exam is going to be held over 2 days which is a max of 100 people. Earlier it was closer to double that no. I think they would reach that by tomorrow for sure considering the no of people who have been waiting to take the exam..so I guess we have to wait till nov :ugh:

Hello,

Anybody who had recently cleared or attempted thier GD and final round of interviews, I kindly request you to shed some information and guidance on the same.

What are the main contents?

Jeppesen Charts- I heard this is the most prominent content
Technical- How much indepth do they ask? Do we need to study from Ace the Technical Pilot Interview? Thats very vast. I am preparing Basic Aerodynamics from FROM THE GROUND UP and Jet engine stuffs from the TURBINE PILOTS FLIGHT MANUAL. Should that be good enough?
Meteorology- Do they ask any questions from Met?
Progonostic Charts or something like that?
Performance- Do they just ask terminlogies? like ASDA, TODA, etc or do they ask something more?
Do they ask V Speed stuffs? If so please kindly tell me what kind of questions so that I can get an idea.
Is any other aspects need to be covered?

I invite for genuine and any positive comments that would be helpful for me and many others who are reading though this threads. Thanks.

what is the relationship of drag and TAS with altitude

rahulred5
11th Oct 2011, 07:15
Using the drag formula

Drag = Coefficient of drag*(1/2air density*V squared)*surface area.

The part of the formula I have put in brackets is IAS.

As altitude increases air density decreases.

Therefore assuming Cd and surface area remain the same, for the same amount of drag, as air density decreases the V squared must increase to keep the formula balanced. V in this case is TAS.

So for an increase in altitude at a constant IAS and the same drag, the TAS increases.

guys two conflicting questions regarding GSP / OXFORD

Accuracy of DME +-3% or 0.5 NM (GSP ) or is it +-1.25% / 0.2 NM ( OXFORD)

what if both are given?

ADF FREQ - 190 - 1750 KHZ
NDB FREQ - 190 - 450 KHZ

or is it the other way around?

ILSAPPCH
11th Oct 2011, 22:34
First of all from indigo's point of view...just refer to oxford...which clearly says
DME-.25nm or1.25%

Secondly-NDB-190-400Khz
ADF+NDB=190-1750khz

Ans is C(104). Its in N. hemisphere, where GC is concave to EQ and RL is a st line. therefore A to B RL trk will be greater than GC trk. apply CA= 1/2 dlong* into Sin Mean lat. CA= 1/2 into 10 into Sin 54*30* = 4*. Ans is 100+4=104*.

first find out the conversion angle (CA)
CA=.5dlongSin(mean lat)
in this case dlong=10
mean lat= .5(54deg 10 +55)=54deg35
CA= .5 x 10 x sin(54deg35)=4.07
Now since it is mentioned northern hemisphere, the GC will lie north of the RL
therefore RL=104

It can be solved with a bit of geometric help...
C.a=5*sin60=4.3
dep=10*cos60=5

now simply using tan [1/2 C.A]=h/[1/2dep]
calculated h=.093=0deg 5 min

add this to 60 deg N gives 6006 N[option B]

Subject: pilot/pilot management_ mis-management issues

Dear All
We are moved to tears by the CEO's well meaning email below.
he missed the point completely..pasted below are some pilot responses
for info of all.
.Yes he went to bat for the crew that screwed up but this was more
out of concern for the Airlines' reputation than for the pilots. .Did
he go to bat for pilots that anonymously work and have got kicked
about by OCC (roster).
We have the worst Flight operation department in the country run by
clerks and the executive pilots are all ball-less **** licking
suckers who should all resign.
Surprised that VP Operations has chosen not to respond. the issues are
flight operations related/specific and not CEO specific.
.We are sick of hearing that the CEO is working on the numbers and
pilot quality of life issue are important to him. This has been going
on since launch. WE do not see them being solved by well meaning
mails.its time someone kicked **** before the company's performance
slips behind the power curve.
Where are the chief pilots fleet captains and supervisors. Are so many needed?
The tear jerk-er mail failed to understand or address the basic
issues. Pilots in the Airline are orphans due to a lack of pilot
management. The VP and his cahoots have abdicated their
responsibilities.Meeting and get- together do not solve problems
decisive action does.

MR CEO please sit down and identify the basic issues and not the non
issues like pilot food and hotels that you have addressed. If you do
so earnestly we will not demand collective bargaining through a union.

The issues are:

1) Give flight Operations a leader and a decision maker.
2) Stop this practice of 7 month joining bonus for a few. Acknowledge
and appreciate ( words and kind) the role played by your existing
pilots.
3) Stop discriminating between co pilots All Jr co pilots, co pilots
and Sr co pilots should be on same terms and condition of employment
as applicable to each category.( Same pay and base pay etc)
4) stop discriminating between Captains and co pilots with respect to
layover allowance and 11/2 rotation.Have uniform fair and equitable
treatment for your pilots
5) Honour your Employment agreement in letter and spirit.VP HR should
consentrate on Human Resource development and not just pleasing the
Boss. To our mind HR should have not let the situation arise. Total HR
failure.
6) institute roster reforms,
7) sack those responsible for the present situation and show your
employees that you have taken control.
8) Do not try and buy pilot loyalty.Earn by your deeds and actions. We
are not whores.
9) Your pilots are demoralized and demotivated. They are tired and
becoming unsafe. Do not only talk about safety The SMS is for use and
not pleasing dGCA and your manuals. Identify the risks and the
earnestly take action to reduce it. .FDTL is as important as SOPs
tired are your major risk factor and flirting with FDTL limits will
only bring you grief.
10). Work on improving pilot moral and stop needless harassment of
pilots for minor SOP infringements.
If you earnestly desire better pilot/pilot managements relations
address the above ASAP.
If you start doing so by informing us rather than talking down to us.
Indigo Flight crew willing will declare peace and a ceasefire.....

Flight Operations needs leadership and decision making

2. trainee pilots who still have to start their Carrier
3. company sponsored pilots who will never say any thing
4. Pilots with 50 hour contract who would fear that if they speak they
will be thrown out and will never get a salary hike
5. Co-pilots with AT who are in line for upgrade and mostly are too
young so count them out
6. now newly released captains who still do not have experience so in
case they loose their jobs they are as good as co-pilots
7. now Captains who want to become check pilots they would never say anything
8. also captains who have become check pilots want to become examiners
so count them out
9. captains eyeing management positions, count them out
10. captains who want to become fleet captains
11. beware of some moles in management who are two sided knifes.
12. never trust anyone in this game not even your left hand.
13. air force pilots who are like cheap labour and yes boss men

the road ahead is difficult but not impossible. its time to give them
back. what ever they are today its because of pilots. And one man who
is responsible for this sorry condition of pilots is SHAKTI LUMBA who
always treated every individual like an idiot.

when the time will come very few would stand up. once threatened by
company every one would back out as it is common Indian mentality that
i was not involved he is the one who started and forced every one into
it.

if we actually want to do some thing then it has to be full blown open
war. first get yourself a secure job so that in case management chuck
you out and every one backs out atleast you are safe with a job in
hand, once you have a job then call everyone for a meeting and there
and then make members keep all the formalities ready and complete and
waste no time and get the association registered before management
starts divide and rule.

Subject: Reflections

Dear Pilot Colleagues,

I saw this email on Friday and the days and nights since then have
been extremely painful and sad for me. Actually, I am angry, sad and
disgusted - all at the same time.

Angry – because the email is anonymous and malicious; Sad – because
despite my best efforts at being personally available to back you,
support you and listen to you, the sender(s) did not feel the need to
come up to me directly and have a professional face-to-face
conversation; and disgusted – because of the language and tenor of the
email.

At first, I thought of ignoring this anonymous email. But I feel that
as I have remained accessible at all times and communicated with each
of you through some of the most challenging times our business has
ever faced, I will do so even now. The mail pasted at the end was
received on Friday, and I thought I would pass it on to all of you so
that everyone is in the loop, as I notice that the anonymous sender
([email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>) did
not have all your email IDs.

While most of the content of the email is hurtful and incorrect, I
think we should pick on the ones that reflect your genuine issues and
we should work to resolve them.

I know that you are tired and frustrated. I am acutely aware of this.
Getting the numbers right and improving your quality of life is my top
priority. We need numbers and we need them fast! That’s the only
fundamental way to solve the rostering issues.

Would it not have been better to just come and talk to me? All of you
have my email id. Most of you have my mobile number. If you have an
issue, come and talk to me. If you are facing a problem, come and
raise it with me. If you have an issue with anyone, send me an email
directly. My job is to support you and protect you, keeping the best
interests of the organisation in mind.

I will not respond to any of the personal attacks on me. It is below
my dignity to do so.

This email forced me to reflect and recall if there has been a single
instance in my time at IndiGo where I have spoken or addressed or
dealt with any of my colleagues in an unprofessional manner. If I have
ever been rude to anyone. If I have ignored anyone. If I have ever
treated anyone with indignity. I tried to think of one problem or
challenge that any of my colleagues brought up to me – whether it be
professional or personal in nature - and it remained unresolved. If I
have ever used language that compromises your dignity. I could not
think of one. But then again, you are better judges than me.

What flashed before my eyes, were the scores of instances where I have
actively and personally defended our pilots before the DGCA,
passengers, police, media and competitors. Of all the hours that I
spend on seeing whether your meals are edible, whether your hotels are
comfortable and safe, whether your cars are clean. You, pilots, decide
your crew meals. You decide what you want to eat and how much you want
to eat. I have never interfered with crew meals. Is this what it comes
down to? I don’t know how many of you know this, but this anonymous
email was even forwarded to the media by some of our colleagues! I
leave it to you to decide, how ethical and professional it was to do
that.

It is ironical that this email comes at a time, when I have personally
been spending hours for the past several weeks on working out a Pilot
Welfare Scheme that will benefit all IndiGo pilots. I will announce it
soon once I have ironed out some details.

I am working on a Dead-Heading Allowance for you all.

I revised the international layover allowance.

I have been working to see how soon we can start layovers in Bangkok.

All this, not because you asked me for it. I work on these ideas because I care.

I find it strange that while the whole world is at the brink of a
major financial crisis, while the western economies are on their
knees, while the middle east is reeling under the burden of debt and
insolvencies, while every business worth its salt is running to India,
some of my colleagues are considering leaving behind a stable career,
growth opportunities and their homes for a few dollars more. I wish
some of my younger colleagues take time to talk to some of the senior
pilots to find out what it feels like to go through an economic
downturn and the value of a stable job and career.

While some of our competitor airlines are melting down around us,
IndiGo is the only airline where there hasn’t been a single instance
when a salary has got delayed even by a day, where there has been
never any retrenchments, where there has been never any salary freeze
– let alone pay cut, where every year we have had promotions and
upgrades, where regular bonuses have been paid to the crew. Today, we
have one of the best compensation packages and terms and conditions of
employment in the industry. We are reputed to be the most
professional. We are the only ones who can confidently show a path of
growth for all our colleagues.

Is everything perfect? Absolutely Not! Are we the best in India?
Absolutely Yes! Will we do everything possible to improve
continuously? Without a doubt!

Just over a month back, I wrote to each one of you and said that I
know that each one of you is putting in an incredible amount of effort
to keep our planes flying safely. I truly appreciate the fact that
whenever almost any of you have been approached to take a flight
assignment either at a short notice or on your day off, maximum
cooperation has been received from all. I often say that I have the
best job in the world because I get the opportunity to come to work
every day with such a bunch of talented and dedicated colleagues. We
are in the midst of rapid and sustained expansion. IndiGo plans to
reach 55 aircraft strength by end of March 2012, a growth which lot of
airline take years to achieve. By any measure, anywhere in the world,
this is a phenomenal rate of growth and such bold moves have taken
IndiGo to no. 2 position in the Indian aviation sector in just 5 years
of operations. This growth does have it’s share of challenges too.
Since the launch of operations, we have faced many challenges in our
pursuit of making IndiGo the best airline in India. We have succeeded
in meeting every one of these challenges with the support of each one
of you. It’s our constant endeavor to ensure that IndiGo grows and
succeeds at every step and I take this opportunity to thank each one
of you for your hard work and sustained efforts. The contribution made
by each one of you has been commendable. IndiGo is not what it is
today because of just you or me or any individual, but it is the
result of what we all contribute together …. as one team! Having said
that, we will never compromise on safety. We will never flout any
rules.

I would like to apprise you that we are making all efforts to improve
the Pilot numbers and leaving no stone unturned to get maximum numbers
on board. Innovative hiring techniques and through consistent efforts
by our Pilot Resourcing team. Some of these efforts include offering
“temporary” financial incentives for new pilots to join us. This is
not because the company wants to spend more money than it needs to,
but only because I want to ensure that we have adequate numbers … and
quickly. So that each of you gets enough rest and relief. So that
roster issues become a thing of the past. So that you feel comfortable
in contributing to our growth.

You can help too. Try to convince as many good human beings and good
pilots to apply with us and join the line as soon as possible. Several
matters directly hinge on our success in this endeavour, including the
core of all our pilot complaints – rostering disruptions.

I had said that it will take a few months to get us there and asked
you to hang in there with me! However, this anonymous email appeared
in less than a month.

My personal commitment and responsibility to make IndiGo, not only the
best airline to work for but also one of the best companies to work
for remains unchanged. If you have ideas, then don’t keep it to
yourself. Send them to me. If you want to do something about it, apply
to become a Fleet Supervisor or just support me on the line. Come be a
part of the solution with me. I always say, while we can’t solve all
the problems, if I know the issues directly – big or small, we can do
something about it.

You and I are “colleagues”. I hate the word “management”. I never use
it. We are with you, and together, I have no doubt that we will
overcome this challenge. You are good and dedicated professionals, and
we are going to come out of this feeling proud that we worked
shoulder-to-shoulder through this difficult period and emerged as
victors on the battlefield. It is time to unite … but unite as one
company … as one organization … as one IndiGo.

I am waiting to hear from you individually.

I know that – I am the I in IndiGo. Are you?

Aditya

There is no pilot shortage,. Only pilot utilisation mismanagement,
training failures due policy and training slot management. Only 60%
of pilots are available to fly the rest are on paid holiday since no

answer is not accurate with the options but is approx.Using Trigonometry

5.2% = 3 degrees 7 min .the horizontal distance is given as 7NM therefore :-
In right angle triangle in order to find the Perpendicular we have
TAN (angle) = Perpendicular / Base so....

TAN (3 degrees 7 min) = Perpendicular / 7NM X 6080Ft = 2317ft

i dont have the exact formula..but i always get these right by:

(Lat+bank angle)/2
(50+10)/2=30*
he is turning left on to the north heading 000. we know compass lags while turning through north in NH. therefore he should stop the turn 30* before in order to be on the correct heading.

i hope this makes sense..it's almost a self invented formula!!;)
incase u find the exact formula from the books..please share!! and thanx for the above help.

CA = constant of cone(CoC) * dlong

An aircraft is flying at FL 140 where the COAT is -5° C. It is flying at an indicated air speed of 260 kts and is experiencing a headwind of 34 knots. When 150 nm from the FIR boundary it is instructed to reduce speed in order to delay arrival at the boundary by 5 minutes. The required reduction in indicated air speed is:
A) 33 kts.
B) 41 kts.
C) 24 kts.
D) 15 kts.
ans a
The time interval between the transmission of a given DME interrogation pulse and the reception of the appropriate response pulse at the aircraft is 2 milli seconds. The slant range is:
A) 162 nm
B) 73 nm
C) 323 nm
D) 92 nm

ans is 162nm

Maverick2167
16th Oct 2011, 16:45
IAS or CAS = 260 kts Find TAS which = 323 kts wind = 34 Headwind therefore Ground speed = 289 kts , Now time taken to cover 150Nm @ 289 = 31min.wit a delay of 5 min revised time = 36 min . Now speed = Distance/ Time therefore Speed @ delay of 5min= 150/36 min = 250 kts (ground speed) now convert 250 kts to TAS by adding 34 kts headwind which give you TAS of 284 kts using your flight computer Find CAS @ that TAS which equates to 228 kts ,,,,

now find the difference : 260 Kts -228Kts = 32 kts / 33kts

the first one seems dodgy but colsest i came was using cx2 using actual tas and a CAS of 226 ...i got an ans of 36 kts difference

2nd one is simple

distance = speed/time = 3*10^8 / 0.002 = 324
but this equals distance wave travels to stn and back so we divide by 2 we get 162

Whats the formula to calculate NDB range??

The nominal maximum range of an NDB with a transmitter power is 200 watts is:

A) 150 to 170 nm.
B) 200 to 220 nm.
C) 100 to 120 nm.
D) 50 to 60 nm.

DJ Flyboy
16th Oct 2011, 22:08
the formula for NDB range is
over water (nm) = 3√Wattage
Over Land (nm) = 2√Wattage

So according to me the range of a 200 W NDB is 2√200 =28.3nm

is the answer in Km or nm??

another Q

The approximate range of a 10 KW NDB over the sea is:

A)100 nm

DJ Flyboy

The answer is a.

A cambered aerofoil produces lift even at 0 angles of attack. On a typical cambered aerofoil, -4 degs produces 0 lift. And since there is lift at 0 degrees, there is induced drag too.

An aircraft heading 130° (M) has an ADF reading of 190° Relative is to intercept the 170° (M) track outbound from an NDB at 30° . The relative bearing of the NDB that confirms track interception is:

A) 150° Relative.
B) 140° Relative.
C) 160° Relative.
D) 170° Relative

i get answer as 150 but it is listed as 140 in the question bank...
if i consider it as wind then it should give me 160 relative

I think it is 150..since there is no wind mentioned we cant factor it in.

Ans - 135 degrees and 13nm.

035(m)-60 =335 (m)
Var = 20w therefore True bearing is 315
QTE = 315-180=135

42500feet = 7nm
Use Pythag Distance = sqrt(15x15 - 7 x 7) =13.26 nm

To All the people who have completed their A320 Type Rating in CAE, Madrid though the CAE Indigo Recruitment.

Q1. What was your total cost that you incurred other than the Type Rating cost. aka Accommodation, Food, Air Travel etc.

A General / Specific idea would be great.

Q2. Is the accommodation in a hotel? Shared room?
Q3. How does the pickup/drop to CAE work.
Q4. How many days does the Type Rating take at max

Here are some of the answers that you have been looking for-:

1. The average cost of living, food, sightseeing etc is arnd 2000 euros.

2. The accommodation is in an apartment. It is your choice whether u want share it with 2 guys or 1 guy or whether u want to live alone. You will hav to pay accordingly and your expenses will also rise according to that.

3. CAE doesnt provide any pick/drop service. But most of the times, the instructors pick/drop u.But it varies with the instructor.

4. On an average,in CAE Madrid,it takes arnd 2 mnths 10 days for the whole course.

I invite people who had taken an educational loan for typerating before please shed some details on it(Which bank, How much loan, etc?)

I am aware of the personal loan option but its way beyond my dad's repayment capacity is concerned. I had already token a loan of 25 lakhs with Indian Bank which is the maximum they can give.

My dad's salary is being credited in City Union Bank, Chennai who has offered us to arrange for loan if we can satisfy that the course is recognized and approved and CAE spain is an approved TRTO. I have asked Sandra for documents supporting them.

PLEASE I REQUEST FOR ANY USEFUL INFORMATION U CAN GIVE! AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

my mail id [email protected]

LOI, DGCA NOC should be more than sufficient for a loan. And hey if city union bank is approving loans for spl, ppl and cpl....then you can tell them that TR also comes under CPL category and that you have finished your cpl but TR is for an endorsement to fly A320!! That reason should suffice them.

Each branch has got their own limits to grant loans. Say if your branch has a limit for 12 lakhs...dont exceed that...otherwise the whole procedure gets delayed and there are chances of the loan getting rejected as well.

- Along with LOI....is DGCA NOC also provided by CAE-IndiGo for the Type Rating.....as in does CAE-Indigo help in all the required documentation, visa procedures, etc. required before the TR?

- And on being selected, after the interview how much time does it take, till actually leaving for your TR?

surprising to see no concern/panic on this thread due to news of KFA pilot exodus. does that not affect affect the recruitment scene at indigo? 130 or so pilots have apparently left. some of them have got to be F/Os, n what better option for them than indigo?

dont mean to trigger panic, just curious at the lack of reaction here so far...

I agree. Lots seem to have missed the fact that a huge number of ex KFA pilots (and way more to come) are either in Indigo or have set sights on it. I think the days of 2008 are coming back and maybe even worse with KFA's inevitable collapse.

Sorry for the doom and gloom predictions but Indigo will have to stop recruitment of freshers when they have a huge number of ex KFA pilots with plenty of Airbus time.

If you had any sense of awareness you would know that 100+ number is over a span of a year and not a few weeks.

A good lot around 20-30(guys with 3000+ hours) are headed to the middle east.

Some were absorbed in Jet some in Go and some even in AI(met an ex KF commander on my last AI flight :) )

so realistically you are looking at around 40 guys and a good number of them will not be competing with fresh CPL holders. Of course it affects the hiring currently going on but not as bad you guys make it out to be.

If kingfisher fails to survie or this condition continues for long ..it will have direct impact on indigo recruitment spree..
I am like many other fellow pilots have studied for months to harvest the only hope and that s indigo..
if they break there chain of conducting exam every month it will be real tough for us as its already not easy to get roll no...

I hope KFA attrition stops as they have never came out with vaccancies in d open..so even if they recruit it will be only ppl with connection..leaving us on d ground in both the cases..

You guys can forget about any more freshers intake for a while. Have an inside source in Indigo that said they are having MASSIVE influx of KFA pilots and they will soon stop recruitment of freshers. Sad but true

If Indigo's HR's word is anything to go by next exam is in January.
"After the 15th of Jan" to be more specific.

LieDetector
18th Nov 2011, 08:45
umm I don't know where exactly do you get you information from but here let me correct you. CAE hires for Indigo, they come out with assessments as and when Indigo requires more crew which is conveyed to them.

They have 3 A/C's on order expected to be delivered by year end or by January, they hired some from KF and some type rated hence no exam in Nov-Dec.

How on earth do you get in touch with Indigo's HR or CAE?

Seems like anyone with a pilot hiring query is not allowed within a 100NM radius of their offices :}

Total number would be anyone's guess, because you cannot be sure of the firm order but an educated guess would be a firm order of around 50-100 more over a span of several years.
This will keep changing according to market conditions. But from the look of the things the CAE-Indigo tie up is of long term.

This site is beneficial to see the delivery of A/C in the near future
IndiGo - Details and Fleet History - Planespotters.net Just Aviation (http://www.planespotters.net/Airline/IndiGo?sort=dd)

As you can see out of the 3 in queue 2 have their registrations in germany (D) that means they are nearing or at flight testing phase.

Hello people,

I am new to pprune. I have got 2 things to ask :

1. indigo multi-eng requirement - 15 hrs.
if i do 10hrs on one aircraft and 5hrs on another (i am type-rated on 10hr.
aircraft and NOT on 5hr. aircraft), is it acceptable??...... i hope the recruitment board have no problem with this?

2. Will it will be wise for me to spend another Rs.2.00-Rs.2.50 lac on 5hr. flying???......... Concerned because a person gets admit card after lot of effort and time...... and i think indigo won't be hiring much since their cadet pilot prog. is also starting.....and they have a very low passing rate......

Thank you aviator.hemanand.

Also one thing more....... after flying 5 hrs. on some other aircraft will my
type rating and IR (on 10hr. aircraft) will still be valid ........and i can go for a normal IR renewal for my 10 hr. aircraft ???

@controllaw

All CAE IndiGo about cares is that you have any multi IR endorsed on your license and that you have 15 hours on any multi aircraft . Does not matter how many multi aircraft you flew as long as you have 15 hours of multi time ( +10 hours on simulator ofcourse )

Will it will be wise for me to spend another Rs.2.00-Rs.2.50 lac on 5hr. flying

Considering the fact that is an Airbus type rating requirement I strongly suggest you fly the additional 5 hours .Tomorow it might be GoAir or Air India that will have this requirement
2-2.5 lac is too much for just 5 hours on a multi airplane .

Consider going abroad ( USA , Canada , Phillipines etc ) where you can do the 5 hours of flying for under 1 lac rupees . It can be done in one day
Also IndiGo seems to be the only airline that will continue to hire for the forseeable future .

Getting the admit card is a matter of pure luck .
The IndiGo cadets will only get their CPL by end of 2012 of begining of 2013

I have two friends who got their Indian DGCA licenses in July 2011 which is this year . They applied for the program in August .
Got called for the written in September . Passed that gave the CASS in october .
Gave the interview in november and today they both have their LOI from IndiGo .

It is done on a random FCFS basis! But AFAIK, I do think Total Flying Time has got something to do with it. Many of my friends who have 300-400 Hours have been called pretty regularly.
