So why fly to Luton, which is a busy airport, just to do circuits?

How is this even allowed ? Try doing touch & go's in a A320, 737 etc and you'll be rejected instantly.

Publicity stunt.

Looking at Flight Radar 24 the aircraft was airborne for just about 4 hours and did 6 circuits of Luton. Not exactly green and costly for Airbus but the big question is indeed why?

Doesn't Airbus have a specific subsidiary for leasing out Beluga for cargo work? Maybe more to impress outsized cargo handlers?

Just waiting for the publicity photo from LRT of a Dart train with a Beluga flying over the top.

Talking about the Dart, it seems that the new name for the proposed separate company running the Dart will be DARTCo. A company with the same name was registered to a pub in Wolverhampton in 2020. I wonder if they know?

More good news for Luton Rising! Inevitable that passenger numbers will decline when there are forecasts that annual energy bills could shoot well past £4,000 in 2023.

Was actually told pilot training but with Chester closed for annual holidays an alternative was used.

I was hoping for somewhere like Nis or Yerevan

Luton-Casablanca seems to have been cancelled before the route even started

Didn't someone predicted Egypt a little while back?

I wonder which routes have been trimmed for these new routes, what next Dammam KSA?
If the US does not play ball (well unions) then those 321LRs will be put to use somewhere. Doubt that will last long though now JetBlue & Spirit are merging with ULCC model. More of a battle to come, might Luton pick up some US work?

Lufthansa not normally known to use Luton but one booked for tomorrow- usually one of their subsidiaries.
Iberia Express as well today from Munich. Football related no doubt.

At the moment I have no idea.
Seems work has started on this area.

I would have thought it was obvious where the slots for the new winter routes come from: the end of summer services to Corfu, Zayakinthos etc plus reductions in flights to Palma, Faro et Al.

Wizz are haemorrhage money with quarterly losses to June 30th of €453m. New routes are being created by cutting back on existing frequencies. The bigger story is their continued march at Gatwick that is effecting Luton numbers.

As opposed to W19, Summer & Winter schedules can never be compared.

They do have rather alot of cash in the bank though.
My point is which routes have been trimmed?
That march is only a little stole at the moment due to them not being able to obtained the slots they want at LGW.
Unless someone else goes under that is not likely to change in the short term.
