MEN reporters as accurate as ever.

The B737 config is 12/150, not sure where those numbers in the article came from?

Re RYR and Thomas Cook +

Must confess i have never understood why RYR and indeed other carriers (or indeed Manchester Airport) have never fully exploited connectivity for those with a flexible outlook to travel.

Fairly simple to create an algorithm which matched arrivals/ departures within say a 90 minute window and link to the relevant airlines.

It's something that LGW are already actively persuing.

You don't need a fancy system, it is quite easy to self connect, however the issue is of course if it is two separate bookings and your first flight is late and you miss the second then you are to use the technical term 'stuffed'.

What RYR are talking about is a form of interlining deal which is a break away from their previous policy as they will have to start looking at transferring bags.

Etihad EY8011

There's currently an Etihad 777-200LR registered A6-LRB heading into Manchester as EY8011. Does anyone know why this is? The inbound is on the MAN website and the outbound currently isn't? Is this a football flight for members of the Abu Dhabi royal family perhaps?

Chinese Ambassador

'He' is actually a 'She', Sarah. Yes, it was an opportunity to announce the expected Beijing service, yet I think this might have been more likely if the visit was by a Chinese rather than a British diplomat.

We must satisfy ourselves with the words of Confucious, who said "Patience is the most essential ingredient on the road to success"

According to FT at week end.

APD...no change for The North despite Scotland threat to scrap but relax some extra free marketing coming our way via www.visitengland.

Full FT link does not work as im not a subscriber. Anybody with the full text ?

If it's as good as visitbritains current coverage of TheNorth I won't be able to contain myself !

Bagso, I saw the article by just pasting "English airports fear Scottish tax competition" and clicking it as a news article.

Arrived back in MAN from MCO on VS076 yesterday morning, along with 330 others (not a bad load at lowest time of the year).

Wheels down to land side in 35 minutes including collecting 5 cases. I know it was very early morning, and winter, but still its still pretty impressive...and we were not first out either.

I took the opportunity to chat to VS crew and they we hopefull, and there is internal talk of, VS expanding at MAN further, but no solid plans known of yet. Fingers crossed.

Finally managed that APD link below

http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/5222f380-a...44feab7de.html

The cynic in me suggests the amount of expediture on marketing outside London will be minscule !

Adverts appearing in Manchester for Air India Ex BHX, no problem with that, its a free market.

That said we have had a few comments that there is no market from Manchester and the NWest ......this would suggest there is ?

Not the most earth shattering increase, but Flybe upping Newquay from 7 to 10 weekly as of March 29th.

About time looking at the numbers tbh
But it's up to 10 from 8 as the route had a twice daily on Saturday's last year and was already loaded for a second daily on a Sunday this year.

Very good news however and I could easily see the roite at 2 daily with morning and evening rotations.
