Pegasus are adding scheduled flights to Manchester this year, instead of just chartered flights to Antalya for Thomas Cook.

New flights begin May 18th and operate to Dalaman. Onward connections to Istanbul SAW are available on their website too. Friday flight available via GDS but not on their main site yet.

PC5173 DLM 0445 MAN 0725
PC5174 MAN 0805 DLM 1420

Fridays

PC5173 DLM 0700 MAN 0940
PC5174 MAN 1030 DLM 1645

Mondays

Both flights use B737-800.

QR three per day from mid summer 2015.

Yes I know it's probably just the usual suspects getting their knickers in a twist about the evening flights.

Oh wait a minute.. even the flight crew are running with this one.

Would be an interesting move from Qatar if true.

To reduce for a few years then increase by 11 weekly flights within a few months would be bold indeed.

QR now have their new shiny hub where connections can be made relatively seamlessly compared to the sh!t hole that was the old airport where you'd be lucky to get to the terminal an hour after landing sometimes. As such, their popularity might be increasing and with new aircraft, cheap fares (sometimes) and an ever increasing range of destinations we could see an increase in demand from MAN on QR going up and up.

Robinsons Pubs - The Airport by Robinsons

Looks like the Airport Pub (formerly 'Hotel'.) plans to be around for a long time.

We're closed as I write for snow clearance - just as the morning arrivals rush starts - but there's something to read in the M.E.N. if you don't want to watch a/c going round in circles or diverting away.

This article seems to include some extra comments by Ken O'Toole from the piece in the M.E.N. which are of interest.

Yup Ian, it's still coming down. Rain forecast from 11 until mid-afternoon...then back to snow again. LPL seen quite a few diverts, along with BHX. SV went to LHR again.

The earlier delayed EK22 (a 77W) is still parked on the usual A380 gate 12 and going nowhere at the moment. Probably another reason for EK17 to sit it out at LGW for a while...

SV tried very hard to get into MAN this morning, held over Derby, then Buxton, then Blackburn tried for well over an hour before giving up and heading to LHR, seemed like most others went for the LPL option.
