Infratil

In February Infratil held its first “Investor Day” for investment analysts and institutional fund managers to meet the Infratil team and receive briefings on Infratil’s businesses on the 1st April.
This can be found on the infratil web site.
This Update provides a summary of the presentations given that day.

Well worth a read, quite a bit to say about european airports.

I noticed in the Infratil report that Boeing are expecting air freight to triple in the next 20 years and passenger numbers to triple in the next 10 years. With the London airports at or near capacity, I would have thought that MSE are in a very good position to, at least, capitalise on the freight growth.

It's scary to see how often "go into liquidation" and "Manston Airport" appear in the same paragraph.

I really don't see what's funny about an airline going under, Oasis are no more and a lot of people have lost their jobs.

Goatface apologies,

i know the Oasis crews well and you couldn't meet nicer people, i hope they all find work very soon. My comment was aimed only for davedee who (as all the people who frequent Manston post will surely agree) loves to dig at MSE whenever possible.

Not true.

This thread is visited by a large number of contributors keen to present a false-positive view of Manston's prospects. Some professionals might allow such a view to influence a career or investment decision which could be harmful to them. Many lives and businesses have been wrecked by unrealistic predictions about Manston.

It is not having a "dig" at MSE, it is simply telling the truth.

Did he himself not lose money when an airline went under. Maybe that's why he's so bitter?

Manstonman-

I fail to see the purpose of your comment.

You have made other similar comments which have thankfully been deleted by the mods.

If you have run out of rose-coloured things to say about MSE and you want to resort to personal stuff, then please, for god's sake start a thread called "why I hate deedave" with my blessing.

However, the title of this thread is "Manston" and I suggest you restrict your contributions to this subject.

I have never enquired into your personal interest in MSE, but since you appear to have a morbid interest in mine, I shall oblige.

I invested 10k in MSE which was lost.
Without wishing to appear financially boastful, I can replace that kind of money in an afternoon, so no harm done.

Others were not so lucky.

I read tales of people who had lost their entire pension, people whose small businesses were left with 30,000 pounds in lost credit to MSE...the list goes on - all because they believed the hype which is put about by people like you.

If people wish to involve themselves with MSE they are free to do so, but they deserve a balanced and accurate view of the situation.

And so you honestly believe the demise of Oasis is linked to Manston how ?

Not particularly balanced or accurate really.

Hope it works out ok for all the staff and crew at oasis.

A balanced view.

I agree with deedave that people deserve a balanced and accurate view of the situation at Manston.

In this instance, of Oasis going into liquidation, Manston will lose a small amount of revenue. This is due to the fact that Oasis will no longer do occasional training circuits.

I would not wish that people gain the impression that Manston was in any way the causal factor in Oasis, an international airline based in another country, going into liquidation.

The balanced view

Reading the last few post you would think that manston's not doing at all well.
Cargo is on the up, charter flights start soon for the summer season, a lot of staff work at Airport the company who own it, are experienced operaters, who have proven track record of giving investors a good return.
We do tend do talk things down, The owner's are not small company in fact very large, we have a few posters who think it will never work on one side, and a major company, who have a proven track record on the other.

Who's your money on.

Every so often we have to remind people on this forum to stick to the facts, stop guessing, stop slagging and stop abusing.

This is one of those occasions. Think before you press the submit button and be reminded that we will delete, or worse, anyone who cannot control an argument in genuine debate.

Life can be tough sometime, everytime you invest in something you take a risk, it's the way it is. Time to stop looking back over your shoulder, move on, life's too short.

Well said Manstonman ,yes i lost £5,000 in Manston ,but I agree thats the chance I took, I think MANSTON AIR PORT, HAS A LOT TO OFFER , i hope my children and their children will profit from having an airport on their door step, jobs will come out of the airport and the surrounding factories that are springing up, I only look over fence but there's work going on the whole time ,soon we will see the long term plans for Manston, cant wait ,night flights ,one or two a night ,not the end of the world.
