CO medical diversion
The Continental flight to Newark yesterday had to divert to Iceland dur yo a medical emergency. Full story:

Interesting about the two passengers that subsequently had to be removed from the aircraft. Not that its particularly relevant, but I wonder if these were British or American passengers, or from elsewhere???

Belfast to Graz
Perhaps this should be on the Aer Lingus thread? This morning there was a flight to Graz (austria I think), it left at 0610 and was back in Belfast at 1155. It was a charter, flight number EI49XX .
Does anyone know if this was a 1 off, or will it be a regular, or what it was for?

That is interesting, Jet2 did a flight from Maribor last night. So what was cancelled in place of the Graz flight? An early morning LHR?
Ryanair did launch services from Maribor last year, but I dont think they have been the runaway success that they had hoped for.

BD Down 21% on Sept 2007
EI carried 24733 down to 37% of the LHR market, compared with over 40% market share in August.
FR slightly above EZY in numbers carried to STN.

Jet2 not operating to AGP or TFS for summer 09.Led to believe that there were too many operators on AGP route,namely EI and Easyjet.Shame as the 757 had usually over 200 down to AGP.

Is this guy for real, yes his flights are on time etc, but I don't think that folk have been forfeiting their break in Malaga, for a week in Nottingham or Ayr on the basis that FR fares are cheaper.

I wouldn't broadcast that statistic too loudly as it can be used by residents, to fuel the argument against any further development (the white paper states that most growth has to take place at BFS) So the DOE may on this basis delay indefinately any expansion.

Again he is putting more pressure on BCA in their quest for a runway extension. This dogmatic view will only work against his plans.

He'd need to catch on soon that the typical Ulster passenger doesn't appreciate being treated like cannon fodder...my personal experience is that EI are streets ahead of FR, with EZ also a much better bet...and when all the sums are done, FR fares are rarely as cheap as MOL suggests...
And to hint that BHD could become bigger than BFS due to his company...I think that's up there with his wisdom on fuel hedging!

Yeah, all LCCs are more or less the same. I flew from Belfast to Bristol last week and almos p$ssed myself laughing when I realised all the people who'd paid for speedy boarding only speedily boarded the bus that was waiting downstairs to take us across the apron to the 'plane. Does it say in EZY's small print that paying a fiver or whatever it is for speedy boarding doesn't necessarily mean you'll be on the 'plane first, but instead at places like Belfast, the bus? Cynical way to get money out of passengers in my mind.

Would that be the same way that the residents of Templepatrick, Crumlin (aledgedly the fastest growing town in GB) and Glenavy are sheilded from Aldergroves operations, which are 24 hours?

i was looking for flights with ryanair for next may to prestwick. The 2nd flight a day is now at 21.50?? and it returns when it lands in prestwick?? which means it arrive back at 23.55 i thaught their wern't allowed to be any scheldued flights after 21.30? or has this been changed?? im sure the residents would just love that!! haha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rosemount, those residents are now (supposedly) shielded in the small hours by the worlds daftest STAR. I believe Peter Griffin wrote in after a session in the 'Drunken Clam'.

No matter what the STAR is they will still have aircraft passing over them for runway 25 at or about 1250 feet QFE . The "daft star" you refer to is the same star it ever was..RINGA BEL(for arrivals from L 10). I believe you refer to the CDA? Perhaps you might enlighten us with YOUR ideas?
