My sources indicate slightly more positive news. A load factor on PIK of around 70% for the morning services and 55 to 60% for the evening. Ryanair will be able to make a profit on those routes at around 50% load. (of course depending on yeild being at least GBP28 one way average).
NTE is also performing pretty well considering its diabolical load's last summer.
But the star performers are of course WRO, PMI, MJV and AGP - at 90%

well just got back from a day trip to Glasgow and both the flights I was on had around 150 pax onboard, with many people doing a day return. Some had gone up to see the footie
Great flights, both early and staff friendly. Can't wait for the new terminal at BOH though. It will be a breath of fresh air when we can finally walk in to a nice new terminal.
Anyone know when FR will announce the new routes for the second plane thats coming in September??

Does anyone know what exactly is happening at Bournemouth regarding the terminal and building work ? Has it all even started with any building equipment in place to start or ground work done even for the so called new arrivals building
I understood and according to the web site at the Airport that everything is in full swing and work had commenced . Obviously not though according to people traveling through

All the demolishing looks as though its been done. I guess the next thing is to start the actual building. The arrivals will be quite big when completed and when you taxi out past the fenced off works site you get a real feel for the size of the new building. You must remember the new terminal is going to cover more than double that of the old hodge podge of buildings. It's not just an extension slapped on the exisiting terminal as some people make out. It will be a regional airport to be proud of. I just wish you could snap your fingers and it would be complete.

I absolutely loathe Ryanair. Worst airline ever.
Just come back form a four day trip to Girona from Bournemouth. Hand luggage only, checked in on-line gave us priority boarding. Outbound flight arrived early. Return flight aircraft went technical with a air conditioning pack needing a spare. Captain kept us informed. They had us on a different a/c and on our way just two hours late.
Even the bus trip to Barcelona was minimal wait and punctual.
We would fly them again from Bournemouth no hesitation.

Am not sure why you dislike RYR, personally am not a huge fan of MOL but his operation has opened the door to millions of travellers that probably would not travel if the flag carriers still had the monopoly. Also think about the number of jobs that have been created as a result. I have travelled RYR a number of times and have invariably ended up in the right place, on time with my luggage, which is a lot more than i can say about my last BA experience.

Have to agree with Biaeghh. I flew with RYR out of STN to BGY last week (its where my job is unfortunately ! ), it was on time,a 1/2 full aircraft with plenty of seat choice, baggage also arrived. same on way back , all for £42 return inc taxes and he didnt get anymore from me in xs or on board sales.
I personally wouldnt go anywhere near B.A or LHR at the moment.
Im currently workiing in Olbia, Sardinia this week, having flown out of LGW yesterday with Easyjet on a £36 return ticket..again on time..and not canx like BA in LHR , plenty of seat choice and bags in the right place again.
Lo Cost has made it so easy for me to work across Europe, without my company having to pay through the nose. You just have to be smart, book ahead early and avoid ticking all the extras and travel light.

Prune is full of personal opinions about Ryanair. We are all entitled to a view, but at the end of the day the business facts speak for themselves...
Air Travel is a business and Ryanair is an outstanding airline business, irrespective of whether you like their billionaire CEO, or the airline policies or not.
The airline has just about the newest fleet on the planet, has the best on time perfomance, the best lost luggage stats, the best flight cancellation stats, the lowest fares and the highest profits. Most airline execs including Mr Walsh would eat their hats to achieve that.
Ryanair is a public company, but like any other company if the owners - the shareholders - are not happy, there would be a swift removal of the CEO. MOL will leave when he chooses, I'm sure of that.
Lets not forget to acknowledge to role of the airport in successfully negotiating a deal with RYR, but neverthless BOH is still very fortunate to have a committed and successful LCC like Ryanair to build traffic and offer consumers choice. Long may their success continue, and long may the success of Ryanair's competition at BOH (all business needs strong competition).
On that topic lets see more easyjet at BOH, sustained long term growth is more likely to emanate from RYR/EZY who have established great global brands, than any other less well known source (although Wizz is starting to impress me).
Interesting that ezy are advertsining hard in the BOH area - Malaga, Nice and Faro - if TOM continue their strategy of the recent months, they may find themselves pushed out of Spain, Portugal and all but the more exotic destinations at BOH (and elsewhere) before long.
Wonder who will be offering BOH - Faro next year... if its going to be ezy they need to get their skates on! Nice would be nice too!

It does seem a bit odd that the priority is the apron rather the the terminal building! Is that two or three weeks, months or years?

DESPITE an attempt by the New Forest National Park Authority to thwart major plans for the expansion of Bournemouth Airport, work is progressing as planned.
In December last year bosses at the National Park Authority applied to the High Court for a judicial review of the decision by Christchurch council to grant permission for the scheme to build a new airport terminal, extra car parks and highways improvements.
The authority said the case was based on concerns that Christchurch council did not take proper account of the national park when granting permission, describing it as "an important point of principle."
But Christchurch council rejected these claims, highlighting the full environmental report included in the airport planning application, which detailed the impact of the expansion on the national park, as well as on the surrounding area.
And nearly four months down the line, it appears the case has not yet progressed very far.
A New Forest National Park spokesperson said: "The National Park Authority is waiting to hear back from the court service on the request for a judicial review, and has been given no firm indication of the likely time scale. The authority has no influence over the time taken for the courts to consider the claim."
But while the bureaucratic battle rages on, building work at the airport continues to make good progress.

Plus the relentless arrogance and spin around every press release. They are focused on turnaround times and profits, and they deliver low fares. Fine. But don't pretend that you give a stuff about customer service when it's patently made as difficult as possible to register a complaint.

Agree with you Coasthugger, MOL gets lots of free press especially around 'stuff the customer' but it works for him, at the end of the day we all have a choice as consumers. If you don't like FR don't use em. How much coverage have you seen around TOM or Wizz in the UK press..? Virtually nil! They have to work harder to attract customers as a result
My point is Ryanair' is a great airline - like them or loath them, they are top of their game. As such thats great for BOH.
It's the radical airlines (chiefs) that get the coverage - Branson, MOL, Stelios.. and the brand awareness is as a consequence huge.

Building Work at BOH
The airport are currently waiting approval from the CAA to put a bund around the perimeter fence line. This is stopping progress at present as the bund will come from the removal of the earth needed to complete three more contact stands
