Could we possibly see a BVA-LDY route added tomorrow?

Always the pessimist eh Cuthere. Enlighten us with your knowledge as to why LDY wouldn't get a Beauvais route?

Pessimist? Not at all. If BVA is announced tomorrow I'll be delighted, and will use it.

However, ever hear of the tale of the boy (lad?) who cried wolf?

If BVA is announced it would be a surprise! But with MOL anything is possible
To be viable it would have to be three weekly, M! F and Sun. Is there a demand? I think that market is fairly flat at the moment

If I was a sarcastic sort, Carn, I point out that I must've missed the BVA announcement today, and that yet again your source has likely misled you (either intentionally or otherwise).

Thankfully, I'm not, and won't say anything on the matter........

I have read through my posts again and I don't seem to have mentioned a source? It was stated on other threads that MOL was to make an appearance and announcement at BVA today, therefore i was making a suggestion!

If FR do the same as last year Mlinnie, the flights will be released in March.

Hope that helps.

Jan Stats

Jan Month Total - 22,048 (-11% on Jan 12)

ROUTE - LOAD FACTOR

STANSTED - 57%
LIVERPOOL - 52%
BIRMINGHAM - 50%
PRESTWICK - 40%

Not good reading unfortunately. It is a pretty big drop in PAX compared to Jan 2012.

It has been confirmed on the Airport's social media site that Tenerife will not operate for 2013

If this is true another blow for LDY.

Maybe DCC should put their resources into improving the road network to BFS. Will LDY ever hit 500,000??

Should there be ONE airport only for NI?

Did I miss the other blows to LDY? Tenerife ran for two months last year, once a week. Whilst unfortunate that it's not coming back, I wouldn't see it as anywhere near a big a blow as losing any of the other routes would be.

It cost £45 million to dual the road between Maydown Roundabout and CODA, a matter of 6.6kms (23 February 2011 - A2 Maydown to City of Derry Airport dual carriageway opens | Northern Ireland Executive) but GAZMO, you seem to think that DCC could redirect resources to fund the develop of the road between Derry and BFS? I wonder where the £300-400million that would cost should come from? Maybe BFS could contribute too? (Tongue firmly in cheek).

I do wonder sometimes!

Yes, the Jan figures aren't great. BFS lost 4.5% of its pax numbers. Not great all round, and one wonders if Ryanair-fatigue and also the massive competition at BHD on LON routes have taken their toll of LDY and BFS respectively.

LDY may one day reach 500,000 pax, but it will require a new airline to complement FR, and in the current economic climate, that ain't happening anytime soon.

Disappointing news, have travelled from Bangor to use this route before and had hoped to use it again this year. Looks like we will be using Dublin instead.

Tenerife

Im actually quite surprised at Tenerife being axed.

This summer, capacity to Tenerife is way down on last year. Last year we had EI operate 3x weekly flights out of BFS ? Also weekly TOM and TCX out of BFS and FR weekly from Derry

This year we have the weekly TOM and TCX flights and also the weekly Jet2 one. Would've thought FR would've kept It going, surely there is more demand for flights to TFS this summer.

Will ALC also be axed ? And what happened to the rumours of the new FR
route ?
